Responsible for learning the basic principles of power plant operations, successful completion of plant training programs, keeping the plant and plant site clean, and performing tasks and services, as needed, in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Perform general labor work, clean-up, and upkeep around the plant and grounds which includes washing floors, windows, bathrooms and vehicles; hauling garbage; driving trucks; operating small equipment such as skid steer loaders; mowing and watering grounds; fence repair; shoveling snow, ash and coal; moving materials when assigned; and performing high-pressure water blasting.
+ Check fluid levels, change oil, and filters, lubricate, and maintain fuel levels on all equipment operated. Report all equipment problems to the supervisor and/or lead person, as required.

+ Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintains records/logs on equipment operated.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Certificate of Completion in Power or Process Plant Technology, or an Associate's of Applied Science degree in industrial mechanical or electrical maintenance, industrial instrumentation, welding, or diesel mechanic; or

**PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

The incumbent will take incoming customer calls and dispatch service orders during business and non-business hours for Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) and its member systems located across 13 states.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Answer telephone calls for BEPC and member systems primarily during non-business hours in an incoming call center environment. Accurately, courteously, and quickly handle calls on designated lines, updating records accurately and timely and communicating clearly with line crews, office personnel, and member services staff.
+ Coordinate notification of emergency response to situations, which may include power outages, fires, property damage, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, etc.

Basin Electric Power Cooperative job in Beulah, ND
Responsible for maintaining Basin Electric Power Cooperative's (BEPC) 115 kV, 230 kV and 345 kV transmission system, working on wood poles, steel poles, and lattice towers up to 500 kV construction. This position safely and efficiently maintains BEPC electric power transmission lines that serve our members, participants, and customers. The incumbent maintains rights-of-way and other Cooperative assets and assist other crafts as necessary.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Assist in the maintenance of transmission facilities, including both wood and steel structures using live line maintenance with Bare hand / Hot Stick procedures. This includes climbing steel and wood structures, conducting aerial and ground patrol of assigned transmission lines, tightening hardware, checking insulator strings, and replacing fatigued or broken hardware.
+ Install and maintain conductors under both energized and de-energized conditions. Read blueprints and diagrams in order to assemble and erect wood and steel structures.
+ Patrol rights-of-way and maintain these areas by fixing fences and gates and restoring washed out areas.
+ Maintain shop locations to ensure a clean, safe working environment and perform minor maintenance on vehicle equipment.
+ Perform "groundwork" to assist other linemen in the maintenance of lines and structures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ A High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and either 4 years of experience with an accredited lineman apprenticeship program and obtained a Journeyman Lineman rating or 4 years of related military training/experience.
+ May be required to have a National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operator (NCCO) designation, or willingness to obtain certification within 1 year from date of hire.
+ A valid driver's license in the state of residence.
+ Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and no CDL restrictions other than a medical variance (V). If the incumbent does not have a CDL, after six months in the position, the incumbent will be required to complete CDL theory, obtain a permit, complete Behind the Wheel, and obtain a passing grade on the CDL test by the end of the first year of employment. Finger dexterity, good color vision and hearing, and the ability to perform close work are required. Continuously working in areas of electrical risks (energized transmission line from 34,000 to 500,000 volts); frequently working in conditions of extreme heat or cold and dirt/dust; and occasionally around fumes, chemicals, vibration, and noise. The incumbent will also be required to work at heights up to 300 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards. Harness rating usually 300lbs, including tools, clothing, and the individual. This position is also responsible to conduct aerial line patrol. The incumbent must remain fit for duty.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Install, operate, and maintain, microwave, fiber optic, and mobile radio systems, as directed by the job supervisor. Install and maintain digital microwave, fiber optic cable, fiber optic terminals, time-division multiplex (TDM) equipment, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, tower light controls, and data modems in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations. Install and maintain ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio repeaters, and base station, mobile, and portable radios. Develop installation, testing, and maintenance procedures for equipment.
+ Maintain alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) power systems, including propane fueled standby generators and automatic transfer panels, which supply emergency power to microwave stations.

+ Maintain assigned vehicles, equipment, tools, and assist other trades in operating and maintaining the assigned TSM shops and adjoining BEPC property.
