Pros of working at Bass Pro Shops

Coworkers are great; easy to get along with.

Cons of working at Bass Pro Shops

As an entry-level job in the distribution centers, the pay is well below the average salary for other jobs doing the same thing. Management is very problematic, a supervisor divulged personal information about a coworker to make a joke. The system of monitoring productivity is broken, and often times require associates to work to the point that safety is no longer the top priority. For a company pulling in large sums of money, there is a ridiculous amount of dated equipment that needs to be completely replaced, but those in charge of allocating finances choose to do the bare minimum as in sometimes throwing tape and zip ties at something and calling it brand new. Safety hours are a scam. Instead of promoting safety in a positive way, safety parties for every 50,000 hours without incidents was introduced. Although it sounds nice, the trigger for resetting the safety hours isn't getting injured. Seeking workman's comp is. So, the amount of time that workers must spend to reach 50,000 hours without an incident is something like 4 or 5 months. Long enough for people to take it serious enough to forgo workman's comp and have to deal with their own injury with meager pay. Sometime in November, a lead broke their foot, but he left for two months on long term disability pay (1/2 the employees wages) and sought out health care with his own resources when his injury occurred on the job. There isn't a single way to get bonuses as far as extra pay goes either.
