**ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING**
The new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning at UW Medical Center - Northwest campus opened in 2024. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility features 75 long-term civil commitment adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It also houses an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. The six-story building is a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and offers amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Evaluate patients who are detained for involuntary behavioral health treatment at UW Medical Center and are scheduled for King County ITA Court
+ Complete clinical and legal petitions/documentation in the required timelines
+ Represent UW Medical Center at King County ITA Court, including testifying as an expert witness in ITA court hearings and also serving as proxy witness
+ Act as a resource for questions regarding the ITA process and involuntary behavioral health treatment
+ Coordinate with the assigned prosecuting attorney and other involved court parties to support the patient's treatment plan and to support successful testimony in ITA court
+ Attend treatment team, utilization review, quality improvement and other meetings as requested/required. Attend scheduled ITA stakeholder meetings
+ When video court and/or telehealth is not available or appropriate, travel between the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and UW Medical Center - Montlake
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ Advanced Degree as required by specialty
+ Licensed as a psychologist, advanced registered nurse practitioner, mental health counselor or independent clinical social worker in the State of Washington
+ 2-5 years of recent experience working with acutely ill psychiatric patients specifically involving evaluation of psychiatric safety, level of function, psychiatric diagnoses, and medications
+ Two years of recent experience working in a hospital setting is preferred
+ Expertise with the Washington Involuntary Treatment Act (RCW 71.05)

Medical Lab Couriers play a critical role in maintaining a strong data-driven digital chain of custody for UWMC specimens. We pick up and deliver specimens and supplies for client locations within territory that runs from Vancouver, WA to Bellingham, WA. We operate 7 days per week from 6:15 AM to 2:30 AM, on 22 different routes from 3 locations - UWMC Montlake Campus, Our Northgate Office complex, and our Renton Central Lab location.
This is a full-time (100%) position for what we call our Route 5. This route covers territory between Seattle and Bellingham along the I-5 corridor from Monday to Friday.
**_IMPORTANT NOTE_** _: The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) is undergoing restructuring that may impact all current route designs over the next 12 to 36 months._

**Information Management - 5%**
Manage the information requirements of the department, to include academic, business, educational and research information needs, incorporating and utilizing the existing Information Technology architecture.
Coordinates and manages the department web site and links including all aspects of department functions: clinical sites of practice, service line and outreach activities, research enterprises, faculty biosketches and publications, training programs, and the residency program.
Develops written communication materials which may include department newsletter, CME brochures and mailings, development brochures, and other information to support public relations, scientific presentations, development activities.
Coordinates and participates in public relations and/or fundraising events including donor relations and represents the department at University and external functions; collaborates with SoM Development for fundraising events and issues.
Ensures a viable and secure Information Technology architecture is in place, and educates faculty and staff to the importance of and compliance with a configuration management plan and policy.
**Service Line Administration - 5%**
The Vice Chair of Finance and Administration has been involved in overseeing the financial aspects of the Institute for Prostate Cancer Research (IPCR). The IPCR is a collaborative effort between Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and UW Medicine, comprised of a team of more than 40 scientists and scientist-clinicians in multiple disciplines. The IPCR draws on primarily foundation and philanthropic gifts to fund a variety of endeavors, including faculty recruitment and new programmatic research initiatives.
Serves on the Clinical Excellence Committee to help identify areas of opportunities for the Department of Urology, including forecasting recruitment needs.

The Mathematics program is part of the Department of Engineering & Mathematics, which is housed in the School of STEM. In addition to Mathematics, the department has programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Engineering. Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, the Senior Graduate Education Specialist is independently responsible for developing and delivering training and professional development content for workshops and seminars designed to support the research trainee community, as well as provide resources and guidance to graduate program faculty leadership and advisors. This position partners with SoM and interdisciplinary graduate programs to provide resources and guidance in areas related to research education and training for both graduate students and research postdoctoral scholars, including professional development; curriculum and handbooks; recruitment and admissions; and scholarships and fellowships. This role partners closely with the other members of the Administrative Services Unit, particularly the Senior Outreach Specialist, on planning and executing education-related workshops and school-wide events such as the PhD hooding ceremony and the research mentor education program. Strong organizational and leadership skills are required to manage relationships, deadlines and competing priorities.
This position has the lead responsibility within RGE for partnering with the Associate Dean for Research Education and Training and other faculty leaders and administrative directors to provide biomedical research training resources appropriate for both graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The Senior Graduate Education Specialist must exercise independent judgement and ownership of managing fellowship and scholarship allocations and notifications; supporting committees, councils, and recurring stakeholder meetings; and supporting student organizations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management (75%)

Position Summary
The Facilities Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, secure, and well-functioning campus environment. Responsibilities include monitoring access, conducting security patrols, responding to incidents and emergencies, opening, closing and securing campus buildings. The team also manages building maintenance, repairs, and landscaping, ensuring facilities and grounds remain safe, clean, and welcoming year-round. In addition, they support environmental health and safety compliance, identify and address potential hazards, and promote sustainability initiatives. By delivering reliable operations and professional, customer-focused assistance, the Facilities team helps create an environment where students, staff, and visitors can thrive.
There are currently two open positions:
* Seattle Clinic (Bastyr Center for Natural Health): This role will initially support our Seattle Clinic. In December 2025, the clinic will relocate to the Kenmore University Campus, and the position will then be based in Kenmore.
* Kenmore Campus: This position is based at our Kenmore University Campus and will remain at this location.
Although each position has a primary location, you may be asked to work at another location to support a project, or provide shift coverage
Essential Responsibilities
1. Campus Safety and Security:
* Conduct security patrols across the university campus or clinic location
* Monitor and respond to security cameras and alarms
* Support access management, including key distribution, badge access, and lockout assistance
* Respond to and report security incidents
* Ensure buildings are secured at the end of assigned shifts (doors/windows locked, lights off)
2. Facility Maintenance and Support:
* Perform basic building systems maintenance and repairs
* Assist with grounds keeping and landscaping tasks
* Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment
* Report on major maintenance issues to specialized staff
* Will assist with any office moves, and clinic moves as requested
3. Emergency Response:
* Respond to campus emergencies and contacts community emergency services as required
* Assist in coordinating evacuation procedures when necessary
* Participate in emergency preparedness drills and training
* Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, AEDs, radios, first aid kits) and ensure readiness for use
4. Environmental Health and Safety:
* Help maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
* Identify and report potential safety hazards
* Assist in implementing sustainability initiatives
5. Customer Service:
* Provide directions and assistance to students, staff, and visitors
* Respond to inquiries regarding campus facilities and security
* Always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor

**_The Department of Emergency Medicine_** **has an outstanding opportunity for a** **_Temporary_** **Research Coordinator** **to participate in clinical research at Harborview Medical Center (HMC).** The Research Coordinator will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research in EMS. Research projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, prehospital whole blood, advanced airway management, and opioids. The research coordinator will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders within Seattle Fire Department and the University of Washington's Paramedic Training program.
This position requires research experience. The team must have confidence in the processes used and the work products of this individual. They also must be able to rely on his/her/their ability to move projects forward with professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness. This individual must have a working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection, management, analysis, and reporting.
**Responsibilities:**
Data Collection Activities: (45%)
+ Perform data collection and data entry process; prepare summary reports and regular updates and perform periodic quality checks to ensure the integrity of the data collected
+ Assist with development and maintenance of research databases.
+ Contribute to development of study protocol and evaluation metrics.
+ Analyze collected data for accuracy.
Human subject research activities (30%)
+ Recruit, screen and consent participants or legal representative.
+ Facilitate timely enrollment of study participants and explanation of research procedures to participants.
+ Ensure informed consent forms from participants and participant family members have been obtained.
+ Ensure Federal and State Regulatory compliance including HIPAA.
+ Actively contribute writing IRB applications/modifications for complex research protocols.
+ Maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals as necessary in collaboration with Clinical Research Manager.
+ Serve as primary point of contact for research participant recruitment, scheduling and questions about studies.
Other Research, Funding and Publication Activities: (25%)
+ Provide project support to keep activities within scope, timeline, and budget; track project milestones and identify opportunities for knowledge sharing.
+ Prepare and maintain study materials for the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
+ Draft and edit manuscripts and grant proposals; prepare materials for meetings and workshops.
+ Complete literature reviews relating to ongoing research.
+ Serve as research contact for UW research collaborators and outside collaborators.
+ Attend necessary meetings and conferences for ongoing research projects
+ Assist with onboarding new hourly Research Assistants as needed
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience performing work in support of clinical, biomedical, or behavioral research studies involving human subject.
+ Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
