Summary:
The Chemical Mixing Operator will safely and efficiently operate all mixing vessels in the manufacturing facility along with the operation of all the equipment necessary to fill and package the finished product.
Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned
* Communicate with Supervisors and facility leadership regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issue
* Follow & perform Bill of Materials, Batch Sheets, & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Understands and efficiently performs all phases of mixing operation, including: offloading talc railcars; adding resin to Meyer, Anco, Kelly Mixers from silos; proper setting of resin meters and proper valve operation; weighs raw materials accurately; adding all ingredients and chemicals, including liquids and powders, both automated and by hand; and accurately
operates Meyer, Anco, Kelly and M2M mixers
* Package batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following SOPs, batch sheets, and verbal directions
* Safely and efficiently operate various styles of mixing equipment, packaging equipment, bulk material transfer equipment, scales, flowmeters and other equipment related to the mixing and packaging of chemicals
* Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
* Understands quality expectations relating to the packaging of our products, including fill weights, appearance of packages, and proper labeling
* Understands the Quality Control functions pertaining to mixed product, including viscosity and weight testing
* Perform required calibrations or routine maintenance to equipment in accordance with company procedures including changing resin filters and emptying dust collectors
* Ensure accurate documentation & inventory accuracy in accordance with established doctrine
* Use all equipment safely and ensure safe operation of equipment by co-workers
* Maintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S protocol
* Assist in modifying or establishing procedures as needed
* Assist in prevention of quality problems and establishment of solutions for existing issues
Education and Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent education required
* 3 years' work experience in a chemical environment preferred
* Forklift operation experience preferred
* Basic understanding of computers
* Oral and written communication skills and basic math
* Willingness to work in a team environment
* Ability to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions given by a supervisor or another manager
* Ability to climb stairs, stand or sit for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 55 lbs. repetitively
* Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time

Batch Operators are responsible for the daily operation of complex chemistry processes at the Marion Plant. Position Overview:We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mixer for a leading custom chemical blending company. This full-time role involves accurately mixing batches to create detergents, soaps, cleaning products, and more. The successful candidate will follow recipes, weigh and measure raw materials, operate mixing machines, and perform routine quality checks. The position also involves cleaning equipment after use. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work within safety protocols are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately mix liquid and powder products, following batch cards and recipes
Weigh and measure raw materials for production
Operate mixing machinery
Perform routine quality checks and ensure product standards are met
Clean mixing equipment after use
Wear safety gear, including a full suit, gloves, goggles, and mask (steel-toe boots required)
Requirements:
Prior experience in mixing, measuring, and weighing ingredients
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Team player with a commitment to long-term employment
Steel-toe boots required (provided safety gear)
Must have large hands for effective mixing
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Monday to Thursday: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: $18.00 per hour
