Key Qualifications

**Key Qualifications**

Job Summary
Battelle is seeking a Radio Frequency Design Engineer to work in the Electronic Warfare group within the National Security Division. The position is located at Battelle Headquarters in Columbus, OH.
The RF Engineer will be responsible for leading development of complex RF/microwave systems, for utilization in Communications and Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions. The applicant must have extensive experience in microwave design techniques, FPGA and embedded system development, radio signal processing, simulation tools and microwave test equipment. This position will work closely with antenna engineers on state-of-the-art phased array antennas, requiring a solid foundational understanding of antenna design and phased array applications including Electronic Beam Steering (EBS) and Direction Finding (DF). A successful candidate will be capable of making technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers and assist in new business development.
Responsibilities
The candidate will provide knowledge and individual execution within engineering projects requiring design, prototyping, analysis, testing, fabrication and integration of RF/microwave systems, into multi-disciplinary engineering solutions. These solutions provide essential capabilities to operators in a wide variety of domains including communications, signal intelligence, radar, cyber and EW. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities
Establish and administer effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to maximize the physical performance of SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel
Provide and perform the following services in support of POTFF's HP program for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel:
Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocols under the supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator
Coordinate training programs with HP staff to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of SOF personnel recovering from injury
Design and implement physical training programs for personnel who are TDY/TAD or deployed under the supervision of the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator
Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance
Refer all personnel with a new or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment
Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing facility standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment
Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs and identify opportunities for improvement. Responsible for reviewing the information disseminated in meetings occurring outside of regular working hours.
Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the HP staff and/or POTFF staff
Attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions
Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records of utilization, workload, conducting or participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions
Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator
Assist with supply inventories and provide input regarding supply needs for the HP program

Key Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline
Current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCA)
At least five years of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) of developing long and short-range planning and coordination of sport/mission-specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings.

Provide HP services within the ATC's scope of practice as defined by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA)
Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment and braces to help prevent and treat injuries, including the use of taping techniques within the ATC's scope of practice
Provide instruction and guidance within the ATC's scope of practice
Participate in periodic meetings to review the care provided to patients to identify opportunities for improvement. If not present, review meeting notes/information.
Serve as an advisor to the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in matters related to injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and bridging

This role encompasses both administrative and clinical duties, including designing and implementing performance nutrition programs, developing rehabilitation protocols, maintaining records, and ensuring the availability of educational materials and supplies. This Performance Dietitian will collaborate with the HP program team, advise leadership on nutrition issues, participate in staff training and meetings, and document care in military health records, supporting the overall mission of the POTFF HP program.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance and counseling on nutritional practices to enhance recovery and optimize performance for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel
Perform administrative and clinical duties within their scope of practice
Provide and perform the following services in support of POTFF's HP program for SOF personnel, with priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel:
Provide nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation guided by evidence-based peer-reviewed literature
Advise the chain of command on issues pertinent to nutrition and performance nutrition
Provide individual and group counseling for guidance on performance nutrition
Design and implement performance nutrition programs for SOF personnel in garrison, TAD/TDY, and deployed settings
Develop nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance
Collaborate with the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator for implementation of new protocols and guidelines
Assist other regional SOF assets as required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and approved by the chain of command
Attend and participate in meetings with other POTFF staff members and medical personnel as requested and/or required
Ensure that adequate educational materials and sports nutrition specific supplies are available
Assist with supply inventories and provide input on supply needs
Ensure equipment and facilities under the purview of the Performance Dietitian are in safe working condition and are properly utilized
Ensure records are updated as required
Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the HP Staff and attend required training in accordance with guiding instructions
Perform administrative duties, which may include maintaining records of workload, participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions
Participate in peer record reviews as directed and required
Develop and promulgate training materials as requested and required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator
Perform other tasks as assigned by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator
Document care in the Military's Electronic Health Record, e.g., AHLTA, GENESIS and/or the HP Enterprise-wide database, i.e., SPEAR, as directed by HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and POTFF staff
Collect and report all data as requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff
Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator, USSOCOM HQ and POTFF staff
Key Qualifications
Master's level degree in Nutrition Science or related field
Current certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a specialty certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). CSSD certification may be waived if all other qualifications are met; however, the contractor shall earn the CSSD within six months of employment if waived
At least three years of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as a Performance Dietitian with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAA Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings
Capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols.
Ability to lift and manipulate loads and weights up to 25 kilograms
May be required to receive and maintain clinical practice privileges
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from the American Heart Association, with documentation provided
Current and valid state certification/licensure
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

Job Summary
The Health Research and Analytics (HRA) business line is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Operational Psychologist to join our team in support of our government customer, U.S. Special Operations Command. This position will play a critical role in advancing the Preservation of the Forces and Family (POTFF) program, which is dedicated to optimizing and sustaining the mission readiness, longevity, and performance of Special Operations Forces (SOF). Through integrated and holistic human performance initiatives, POTFF strengthens both the Forces and their families, ensuring comprehensive support for those who serve. As an Operational Psychologist, you will contribute to impactful research and analytics that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of these vital programs. The Operational Psychologist provides expert clinical and operational psychological services to SOF, including developing and managing unit-level behavioral health initiatives, conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, offering crisis responses, executive coaching, and professional development for SOF personnel and leadership. This role will provide direct support in the assessment, selection, baseline and post-event neuropsychological screening, and human performance enhancement of personnel to support mission readiness in high-stakes environments. Additionally, the Operational Psychologist ensures compliance with professional standards, maintains credentialing, manages referrals and records, and collaborates with command and community agencies to optimize psychological health and performance.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct services in the areas of clinical and operational psychology to SOF
Develop, plan and initiate unit level resiliency programs for preventing and treating behavioral health issues to support all aspects of service member readiness and resilience
Provide technical expertise, consultation, and direct support in the areas of assessment and selection of personnel, operational support, individual/team/organizational assessment and performance enhancement, executive coaching and leadership development, research, conduct advanced training designed to maximize performance and resilience of SOF personnel to accomplish mission objectives in potentially time-constrained, high-stakes, ambiguous and hostile operating environments, and the provision of psychological services to unit members
Conduct, administer, and interpret a full spectrum of psychological assessment measures and consult with command personnel
Manage relevant process improvement, program validation, and related research
Develop and manage appropriate personnel selection records and filing systems
Assume responsibility for management of referrals and disposition of referrals for behavioral health care
Provide professional development and awareness education to leadership and SOF personnel as requested
Provide crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents
Function as liaison between unit personnel and base/community helping professionals/agencies
Function as primary supporter of the assessment and selection of incoming personnel and provide feedback to unit leadership on suitability of personnel to serve within certain military organizations or positions
Ensure all work meets professional standards and guidelines defined by the organization's commander and/or Senior Operational Psychologist
Provide technical expertise, consultation, and direct support in the areas of assessment and selection of personnel, operational support, human performance enhancement, and the provision of clinical services to unit members
Conduct baseline and post-event neuropsychological screening and will collect/analyze data and monitor trends in psychological health as directed
Maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at a local MTF
Key Qualifications
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology
Successful completion of an Internship/Residency in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association
At least two years' post-doctoral experience within the past five years in the independent practice of psychology in operational psychology, preferably in a government setting such as a Department of Defense (DOD) or Intelligence Community (IC)
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in one of any U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin Islands
Meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions
Possess a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical psychology programs.
Demonstrate sufficient computer literacy to operate a personal computer utilizing psychological test, word processing, database/spread sheet programs, and possess basic typing skills sufficient to efficiently produce the psychologist's own reports and correspondence
Ability to conduct, administer, and interpret the full spectrum of psychological assessment tools and to consult with command personnel.
Ability to manage relevant process improvements, program validations, and related research
Possess a mastery of psychological assessment, behavioral health, behavioral research, and familiarity with organizational effectiveness literature, operational psychology, performance enhancement and training, industrial/organizational psychology, and social and operational psychology
Possess experience and training in the assessment and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse conditions, domestic violence, child abuse, post-traumatic stress, mood and anxiety conditions, and family/marital issues
May be required to receive and maintain clinical practice privileges
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from the American Heart Association, with documentation provided
Ability to effectively communicate orally and written
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Prior education and training in personnel assessment and selection with two years of experience
Prior military and/or SOF experience is preferred
One year of experience in performance enhancement or executive coaching as well as organizational assessment and consultation and/or completion of the USASOC Operational Psychology in Personnel Selection course or similar organizational psychology classes
Training in critical incident/stress trauma interventions
Capability of meeting the physical demands of selection and training events including the ability to hike over rough terrain, work long irregular hours with disruption in sleep cycles, and function in austere environments
Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) orientation and/or certification through the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA), or the willingness to obtain it

Key Qualifications
