1955

Battery Systems entered the battery business in 1955 when the founder, Harry Streelman, nicknamed Deadcell Harry, started a small battery rebuilding and recycling business in Southern California.

1973

For example, General Motors develops a prototype for an urban electric car, which the company displayed at the First Symposium on Low Pollution Power Systems Development in 1973.

1980

In the 1980's and 90's, Battery Systems grew to over 30 locations, all the while, building on the foundation of having the best Service, Products, and People

In the 1980's, they began to add more locations, and increase Battery System's footprint to cover not just Southern California, but the entire Western United States.

2000

In 2000, Toyota releases the Prius worldwide, and it becomes an instant success with celebrities, increasing its (and the electric vehicle's) profile.

2013

In January 2013, Nissan begins assembling the LEAF in Tennessee for the North American market thanks to a loan from the Energy Department.
