Lifeguard Parks & Recreation Aquatic Division Requires successful post-offer completion of a background investigation, physical exam, and drug test (including marijuana/THC) as a condition of employment with the City of Joplin. **This position requires work on weekends, evening hours, and some holidays.** Primary Purpose Ensures the safety of patrons by monitoring patrons, enforcing facility rules and responding to incidents and emergencies. Minimum Qualifications Education:High school diploma or GED is preferred, however current students are encouraged to apply. Experience:No prior work experience required. Prior experience or training as a Lifeguard or swim instructor is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate swimming skills proficient enough to safely complete a water rescue. See Special Requirements section below for Licenses and Certifications:A valid state issued drivers license is not required; however, transportation to and from work and off-site training programs must be accomplished without impacting attendance. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, but not required. Must successfully pass in-house training and recertification as provided. Essential Job Functions Maintains active surveillance of the pool area and supervises the safe use of the facility. Enforces safety rules, policies and guidelines at the aquatic facility. Addresses complaints and inquiries from patrons professionally. Responds and renders swimming rescues; performs CPR and first aid as needed. Assists with preseason pool start-up procedures and postseason pool close down procedures. Assists with opening and closing duties daily, as needed. Contributes effectively to the Parks Department, communicates effectively with co-workers, both within the department as well as outside the department. Maintains satisfactory attendance to ensure duties are performed without negatively impacting co-workers or delivery of service to the public.

Your role in the store will be to assist the Produce Manager in providing high quality fresh produce. Daily Operations * Providing exceptional service to all clientele and sharing your expert knowledge on produce * Assisting the Produce Manager in maintaining, stocking cleaning, and keeping proper signage in the Produce Department * Properly culling, rotating, and restocking produce * Keeping the prep area, walk-in cooler, and sales floor clean Company Standards * Following all safety guidelines & reporting any missing or non-functional safety equipment * Complying with all company policies including following dress code and wearing name tag * Completing all company training as required for the produce department * Staying up to date with the latest training and knowledge available for produce while keeping good communication with other departments Basic Functions and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 60 lb. boxes on occasion and/or exert 25-60 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10-20 lbs. of force constantly while moving and handling materials and products. Must have dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to stand and move about to various workstations. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull items so that objects move toward areas of use. Must be able to use knives and other sharp instruments utilized in the preparation of food items and/or removing product from boxes. This is medium work requiring good, corrected vision, hearing, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling and the ability to work on floors that sometimes become slippery.
