Bay Towel company history timeline

1929

Bay Towel began as Royal Cleaners in 1929, the former De Pere Laundry.

1970

In 1970, current owner John F Butz joined his Father Don and Uncle Ken to help grow and manage the business.

1971

Through the addition of an Apparel Master franchise in 1971, the company’s linen supply and uniform rental business developed and the sale of new accounts soon followed.

1972

Bay Towel operated side by side with Model Laundry on a property located at 501 S. Adams St in Green Bay until its sale to the Butz family in 1972.

1980

In the early 1980’s Bay Towel was seeing growth outside of the Green Bay market.

1989

In 1989, Bay Towel’s primary production facility was relocated from their 20,000 sq ft downtown Green Bay location to a new 80,000 sq foot warehouse on the west side of Green Bay.

2010

Recognizing the growth opportunities in the healthcare and boutique clinic markets, in 2010 Bay Towel undertook the TRSA’s Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Councils certification process.

2014

In 2014, Jake Butz re-joined Bay Towel and represents the 4th generation of the family to be involved in the business.

In order to keep up with growth, in 2014 Bay Towel undertook an expansion project and added an additional 16,500 sq ft onto its primary production facility.
