Role Overview
As a Dosimetrist - Proton Therapy, you will be responsible for importing CT simulations and treatment data, optimizing computer-based radiation dose distributions, calculating radiation doses or delivery settings, and documenting treatment plans prescribed by radiation oncologists.
You will participate in simulation, dose computations, immobilization, and other aspects of treatment planning for patients receiving radiation therapy, assisting with the development of proton, photon, and other radiation treatment plans as needed. In addition, you will collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapy teams and maintain compliance with safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards throughout all planning and delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
Proton Dosimetrists are expected to perform at a higher level of technical and clinical expertise, including:
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement patient-specific proton treatment plans requiring complex optimizations and multiple iterations, while applying principles of range uncertainty and robustness.
Beam Path & Density Analysis: Design proton beam paths, evaluate intervening densities, and anticipate issues affecting plan quality and robustness.
Device & Immobilization Support: Assist in designing, fabricating, and verifying immobilization devices for accurate beam delivery.
Quality Assurance & Documentation: Verify all calculations, maintain accurate records in EMR, TPS, and OIS, and ensure compliance with safety and QA standards.
Technical Navigation: Manage complex technical interlocks, downtime events, and support insurance authorization through comparative planning.
Collaboration & Education: Communicate effectively using proton therapy terminology, support team training, and contribute to new technique implementation.
Safety & Efficiency: Apply radiation safety practices consistently and perform duties with attention to treatment room efficiency.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program or Certified Radiation Therapist with 2+ years of on-the-job training as a Medical Dosimetrist

Memorial's Division of Urology provides specialized services to the community and beyond for urologic conditions including incontinence, cancer, and those affecting fertility. The selected provider will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute urological conditions in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities will range from routine care to assistance with procedures including nerve stimulations, interim programming, pessary fittings, catheterizations, and bladder instillations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a urology practice setting or at least seven (7) years' experience as an advanced practice provider.
Candidates must have a Master of Science in Nurse Practioner and possess a national Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification. Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Director of Government and External Relations will manage successful statewide relations at all levels of government and among community leaders, state trade associations and other external constituents of importance to implement the state and federal public policy and advocacy agenda of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) within the State of South Carolina. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE**
Contacts patients or providers for outpatient diagnostic procedures. Contacts patients to schedule outpatient diagnostic procedures.
Collects patient demographic and insurance information during scheduling phone call with provider or patient.
Validates insurance is in network with the provider.
Compiles patient information such as diagnosis, reason for procedure, medications, allergies and other applicable information prior to scheduled procedure.
Monitors inbound orders process to ensure orders are validated and routed appropriately to ensure patients are contacted timely to schedule procedure.
Contacts department affected by schedule adjustments to ensure patient is prepared and necessary personnel and equipment are available.
Responsible for meeting telephone system metrics and any other productivity standards set by the department to include length of call, length of answer time, and number of calls taken within a specific period.

Performs collection activities for assigned accounts. Contacts insurance companies to resolve payment difficulties and penalties owed to BSWH in accordance with Managed Care contracts.
Contacts insurance company representatives by telephone or through correspondence to check the status of claims, appeal or dispute payments and penalties. Has knowledge of CPT codes, Contracting, per diems, and other pertinent payment methods in the medical industry.
