Senior Medical Science Liaison Stroke/Thrombosis (Orange County, South Los Angeles)
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a trusted scientific expert and partner representing Bayer in the medical community through the dissemination of and education on scientific data related to Bayer products across the product lifecycle. The MSL establishes proactive long- term scientific/strategic relationships with key, influential healthcare providers, and stakeholders, and with major medical associations and academic centers of excellence. These relationships will ensure that healthcare providers and organizations have access to relevant scientific information and that pertinent information is shared with the medical community. The MSL serves as technical and scientific support in the field for healthcare providers ensuring safe and effective use of Bayer products including timely adverse event reporting and responses to unsolicited requests for detailed product and disease state information. The MSL also develops a complete understanding of national, regional, and local experts and stakeholders in specific therapeutic categories and the healthcare environment in which they work. The MSL is an expert in specific therapeutic areas covering a specific region and Area Business Unit, collaborating with internal business partners and external contacts addressing specific scientific and educational needs.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Medical Science Liaison, Stroke/Thrombosis are to:
Scientific Expertise
* Complete core training curriculum and basic MSL and Therapeutic Area (TA) Certification;
* Demonstrated accountability to continuous learning and growth (Franchise data, MSL role, Soft Skills, Personal Development). Completes recertification where applicable;
* Professional licensure with CEU documentation where applicable;
* Depth of knowledge within the therapeutic area exceeds that of peers and/or Medical Affairs experience in multiple therapeutic areas;
* Coordinates and lead TA updates, team discussions, training initiatives (i.e. journal clubs);
* Attend and report on local, regional and national medical conferences and other meetings of value;
* Coordinate team coverage of major regional or national meetings including program evaluation, required attendance and coordination of high quality meeting reports;
* Identifies educational gaps and provides subsequent recommendations for educational resource, content, or initiative development.
External HCP and Stakeholder Engagement
* Establishes robust long-term relationships with Thought Leaders and other key stakeholders through education on up to date scientific information in alignment with US, Global, and Area Business Unit definitions and strategies;
* Impactful proactive engagement with TLs, HCPs, research sites, associations, societies, & other stakeholders according to defined scope and engagement plans. Actively seeks future stakeholders and emerging Thought Leader groups in alignment with local health care system and medical strategy;
* Leverage knowledge of US and Global definitions and strategies to develop and pull through local Area Business Unit strategy;
* Responsible and Accountable for driving medical strategy by translating the local medical plan into implementable TL and stakeholder engagement strategies with cross-functional teams and identify synergies with the interests of Bayer and the general medical community;
* Approach accounts, customers, and Area Business Unit strategically, utilizing key metrics to ensure alignment to territory plan and medical objectives;
* Compliantly supports speaker training and evaluation and medical evaluation of scientific merit;

* Coordinates TL engagement with Franchise Medical Affairs team and relevant internal stakeholders.
Education
* Delivers educational presentations to external audiences, stakeholders, and customers groups. Proactive identification of educational opportunities within assigned Area Business Unit to stakeholders or customers groups;
* Responsible for timely, accurate, specific and balanced responses to Medical Inquires in collaboration with Medical Communications;
* Adherence to SOP and FDA guidance for distribution of scientific information;
* Adherence to SOP and compliance guidelines for all external contacts;
* Prepares and presents data to internal audiences including MA and Commercial partners.
Research
* Responsible for supporting research projects aligned with medical and brand strategy; including facilitating investigator-initiated research (IIR) and research site identification;
* Responsible for supporting clinical trial team and engaging with appropriate stakeholders for Bayer sponsored clinical trials. Support with data collection, feasibility & initiation visits, and study support as appropriate.
Insights
* Responsible and Accountable for generating relevant HCP and stakeholder insights that deepen understanding of patients, HCPs, consumers, or treatment landscape. Document and communicate them accordingly within system or to stakeholders to inform, refine, and enhance tactics and strategy;
* Report new compound development information and potential collaborations when appropriate or requested in line with corporate strategy.
Collaboration
* Compliant active strategic partnership and collaboration with territory cross-functional stakeholders (i.e. Area General Manager, Area Business Unit team, Field DGOS, etc.) as part of Area Business Unit team;
* Presentations to internal audiences including Therapeutic Area Medical Affairs (MA) or commercial partners;
* Lead project teams or task forces as appropriate within Franchise Medical Team;
* Initiates best practice discussions for MSL team and internal partners;

* Internal champion of new ways of working including platforms, systems, capabilities. Train, mentor, and empower Field Medical team to leverage new ways of working;
* Complete all required customer activity documentation, training, expense reporting, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner;
* Responsible for reviewing and interpreting interaction analytics related to TL engagement and take appropriate actions to execute stakeholder plans;
* Use data and analytics to seek out and maximize customer engagement opportunities within the territory;

Required Qualifications:
* BA/ BS Degree is required;
* Experience in a scientific or healthcare clinical setting; or pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing or Clinical Development; or post-graduate fellowship experience in a hospital or industry setting; Rotations or fellowships do not contribute to above requirements;
* MSL experience is required;

* Working knowledge of FDA, OIG requirements;
* A minimum of 1 year MSL experience or 2 years experience working within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or post-graduate fellowship experience in a hospital or industry setting.
* Area of expertise in neurology, stroke, thrombosis, or anticoagulation, preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $156,000 to $234,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). **Cardiorenal Associate Director Regional Marketing - California**
**PURPOSE**
As part of the field-based Product & Portfolio Squad, your primary responsibility is to engage and develop Thought Leaders (TLs), generate insights relevant to strategic decision-making, execute regional meetings, and deliver programs to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) for Bayer's Cardiovascular Renal Portfolio. The ultimate goal is to help enable near-term Squad objectives to achieve long-term brand results. The geography of coverage will be the Southern half of California, mainly Los Angeles and to potentially include San Francisco. Travel up to 50% within the territory.
**KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The incumbent will be responsible for activities across five key areas, in each case, acting as a champion to deliver brand communication strategy.
1. Strategic Thought Leader (TL) Engagement;

3. Speaker Bureau Engagement;

Strategic Thought Leader (TL) Engagement:
+ Establish and maintain TL relationships in the field of cardiovascular-renal-metabolic health. Engage target customers across appropriate channels and activities (1:1s, conferences, consultancy, speaker bureau, material co-creation, etc.) to create positive product perception and deep relationships. Develop a regional advocate TL base which aligns to CVR product communication strategy. Academic centers, key accounts, and TLs within the region are of particular importance, as well as supporting relationships across other regions;
+ Identify and recommend TLs to provide brand insight. Collaborate with the local team to identify emerging TLs and make proposals to add or subtract to maintain focus on the critical top TLs significantly driving peer influence, institutional decision-making, and/or scientific advances;
+ Develop and maintain deep clinical expertise to challenge and advance TL thinking, leveraging consistent expertise in the data, brand strategy, & messaging;
+ In collaboration with the Area General Manager (AGM), contribute to & inform sentiment tracking along the TL Journey to inform plans to motivate TLs to become vocal champions. Collaborate with TL Strategy/Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Content Lead to deliver strategies to develop TLs;
+ Develop, implement, and maintain accountability for the interactions and feedback with regional and local external experts across the U.S.
Congresses & Regional Conventions:

+ Attend scientific/educational sessions to advance clinical expertise, sharing key insights learned from conferences and TL engagements with sales and brand teams to maximize utility & action plans;
+ Maintain deep understanding of a region, including opinion leaders and other influencers, treatment and utilization trends, payer and reimbursement dynamics, and opportunities and challenges for the brand and marketing tactics within the region.
Speaker Bureau Engagement:
+ Lead marketing-initiated peer-to-peer (P2P) program execution including national broadcast;
+ Supports the execution of the promotional speaker bureau by aiding the development of Opinion Leader faculty to create innovative speaker content, support the training of new speakers, and increase the effectiveness and compliance of promotional programming. Liaison for insight collection from pertinent national, regional, and local level conferences and symposium;
+ Harvest insights during program execution, feeding ideas and recommendations to P2P content that lead to strengthen and evolve speaker programs, including customizations of P2P content by stakeholder.
Implement Local Marketing Initiatives and Programs:
+ Own or contribute to various local and national marketing projects that drive brand strategy. Contribute to and actively participate in platform teams focused on improving processes, including speaker bureau, contracting, congress planning, etc;
+ Tailor brand materials to local needs and assess how to further tailor digital solutions on an area level.
Insight Generation and Field Partnership:
+ Coordinate, share, and consolidate customer insight & intelligence, including program participation with sales consultants, AGMs, regional/national account directors and other internal partners, enabling all to deliver on the brand strategy;
+ Execute against regional marketing plan that aligns with strategic imperatives of national brand plan and help drive brand growth at local levels;

+ Lead assigned advisory boards in collaboration with Brand Lead, CRM peers, and agency partners. Develop objectives, complete content development & approval, align internal attendees, oversee execution, and share meeting outcomes/insights with all key stakeholders not in attendance, especially AGM and local Squad;
+ Collaborate with assigned ad board lead to extend moderator and/or customer invites to within region TLs. Attend & actively participate in select ad boards. Share back customer/institution specific insights to local team;
+ Collaborate with local teams to enable the field's optimal engagement and execution when opportunities arise, such as sponsorships, conferences, & events;
+ Share knowledge on systems & processes with Brand Lead, AGM, within CRM team but also across the matrix team, leveraging experience and sharing proven approaches to establish & build deep TL relationships across different customer types.

PURPOSE
The primary purpose of the position is to provide direct on-site emergency service, preventive maintenance and installation support to end user customers while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The position is also responsible for assisting in reaching Service Zone Revenue targets with work group sales responsibilities ranging from 1 to 2 MM dollars and to communicate product sales opportunities to Sales and Applications team's members as needed. Willingness to acquire and use sales skills is a must. Difficulties include extensive travel (50000 to 75000 driving miles per year), working with contaminated products, exposure to X-rays and Magnetic fields, sick patients and the need to lift heavy equipment (over 50lbs). Typical work week approaches 50 hrs and on-call duty as needed by Zone Service manager.
The span of coverage will be Los Angeles, CA , including Pasadena and Glendale, south to Huntington Park, west to Culver city. Travel up to 75% within the territory. The candidate is preferred to reside in the Los Angeles, metro area as that is the center of the territory. The Candidate must be domiciled within the territory.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations at end user customer sites using approved Bayer documentation;
* Schedule and organize own work activities, ensure efficient operations;
* Organize and re-order inventory valued at $20K to ensure quality work and low incident of defective or incomplete on-site customer visits;
* Responsible for proper return of all defective inventory for replenishment;
* Price service calls, offering discounts or converting to full contracts when needed;
* Generate service revenue of up to $500K in given work group (Individual revenue responsibilities may vary);
* Prepare and develop sales quotes and follows through to close the sale. Call end-user customers, purchasing agents and Bayer dealers to finalize and ask for the order;
* Interfaces heavily with Service Admin/MSRC billing processors to ensure proper & timely invoicing. Responsible to assist in collection activities within a given territory;
* In some cases, generates customer interest and communicates to Service Marketing Rep;
* Generates and communicates sales leads to respective sales rep for new product or disposable opportunities;
* Maintain company car, oil changes, tire rotation, etc. and tools in good working order valued at $35-$45K;
* Ensure all proprietary info is safe guarded from non-Bayer personnel, includes: Service & Training Manuals, Diagnostic and Calibration software, BIT keys, ect.
WHO YOU ARE

In this vital role you will be accountable for the staff management and resource allocations in Global Patient Safety and support GPS in the establishment of a highly effective global safety organization in full compliance to worldwide regulations. In this vital role you will join our Biosafety Development (BSD) group.
The Senior Associate will support ensuring patient safety by performing sterile filtration validation studies for Amgen's pharmaceutical products. Also, they may partake in technology development for detection and identification of bacterial adventitious agents.
Primary focus will be on performing GMP validation studies for sterile filtration via Standard Operating Procedures and qualified detection methods using model bacterial strains. These studies will support IND and MA filings to the FDA. Test articles are generated with protein purification processes and will require preliminary testing to assess matrix interference with bacterial health. Assays performed for the detection of bacteria may include traditional detection methods and/or molecular techniques.
Responsibilities may include the following:
Leading and executing GMP bacterial filtration retention studies to support IND and MA filings to the FDA.
Utilizing traditional or molecular assays for the detection of bacterial adventitious agents.
Applying filtration knowledge and techniques to troubleshoot problems during execution of studies.

Maximize site of care (SOC) opportunities in accordance with product labelling, strategic imperatives, and Company policies.
Provide overview of therapy and clinical procedures involved with infusion to assigned SOC customers/partners; coordinate with Medical Affairs team.
Identifying gaps in existing SOC networks, developing plans to expand SOC options.
Pulling through national partnership contracts at the local level.
Proactive and on-going access-related education including coding and billing and conducting quarterly business reviews with SOC administrative leaders.
Serve as the lead point of contact with sales, patient services and reimbursement access functions for assigned site of care (SOC) customers/partners.
