In the mid-1930's, a fund drive was started.
In 1938, a new 100-bed hospital, renamed Milford Memorial Hospital, opened.

In 2019, Bayhealth Milford Memorial closed and patient care began at the Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus.
In Fiscal Year 2020, Bayhealth recorded 96,820 emergency department visits, 18,574 patients admitted to beds, 2,241 births, and provided $68.16 million in unreimbursed care to patients.
