JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to provide primary financial data for use in maintaining accurate and timely payment records for assigned supplier vendors and/or employee reimbursements for internal departments. Assist with projects related to Disaster Recovery Finance as needed.
*This position is only partial remote. Some onsite is required (Galveston, TX). Previous accounts payable experience is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Verifies, audits, and approves disbursement of funds for assigned vendors via Purchase Order (PO) voucher entry and/or non-purchase order (Non-PO) voucher entry and/or Travel/Expense voucher within the Financial Management System (FMS) Accounts Payable or Expense Modules. Obtains appropriate approvals authorizing payments using departmental signature or approval information housed within FMS.
· Compiles, analyzes and interprets data regarding payment disbursement for goods and services applying thorough knowledge of procurement and University policies and guidelines including taxability and/or IRS-reportability of certain transactions.
· Interfaces with UTMB Supplier Management team as necessary to assure accurate data in the supplier database.
· May research payments not correctly posted to vendor or departmental accounts and returned check mail.
· May monitor incoming payment inquiries from departmental end-users and/or suppliers and perform research related to such inquiries.
· May initiate or perform voucher reversals, adjustments, credits or cancellations for payment to correct payment errors.
· May post and process payments for goods and services by generating the FMS PayCycle process per pre-determined schedule. Prepares payment data/information daily for check mailing, EFT, ACH and Treasury Wire record.
· May interface with IT staff related to FMS Paycycle problem resolution.
· May respond to non-routine correspondence or telephone contacts within guidelines established by supervisor.
· Retrieves information regarding vendor or employee payment records and balances within FMS.
· Utilizes ImageNow online imaging system to review and obtain scanned supporting documents.
· May provide data input support for ImageNow online imaging system and/or other clerk related duties.
· May perform records retention duties related to files produced by Accounts Payable department.
· Performs other duties as assigned regarding gathering support for projects associated with declared disasters.

JOB SUMMARY
The Revenue Integrity Educator II AKA Revenue Integrity Auditor & Educator position works under minimal supervision to develop and conduct individual or group presentations on coding, billing, and compliance topics. The duties for this position will include but is not limited to the following:
Revenue Cycle Management Support: Research coding, documentation and reimbursement inquiries submitted by physicians, clinical departments, or revenue cycle management to ensure compliance with specific payer and/or government regulations and optimum reimbursement. Prepares timely responses based on research outcome. Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure coding and billing practices are accurate, compliant with regulations, and aligned with university policies and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines.
New Provider Education: Conduct standardized education for new providers (physicians, advanced practice providers, and other professional practitioners) for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, PM&, R, Neurology, Psychiatry. Perform pre-bill reviews of professional charges and follow up with new providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation practices. Performs post-onboarding pre-bill review of professional charges and follow-up with new providers to confirm understanding documentation requirements to promote billing compliance
Clinical Department Education: Develop and conduct individual or group physician education presentations on coding, billing compliance guidelines, audit findings or internal reporting. Develop comprehensive content for presentations, including key concepts, regulations, case studies and practical examples.
Billing Compliance Reviews: Conduct documentation and billing compliance reviews to assess the adequacy of medical record documentation and appropriate use of procedure, modifier, and diagnosis codes. Summarize audit outcomes and provide education as needed.

Working with Sr. Professional Billing Integrity Educator or Supervisor, develops reports that summarize outcomes. Provides input on recommended corrective action plans.
* Research coding, documentation and reimbursement policy questions or problems submitted by physicians, practitioners, supported-departments, billing staff and others, to ensure compliance with specific payer and/or government regulations. Assist Senior Billing Integrity Educator and/or supervisor with responses. Escalates issues beyond their scope to Senior Billing Integrity Educator, Supervisor or Manager.
* In coordination with the Compliance Office, support and/or conduct Billing Compliance risk-based audits.
* Complete charge review and follow-up EPIC work queue assignments, within department timeliness standards, under guidance of the Senior Billing Integrity Educator or supervisor. Assists with quality assurance reviews for internal or contractor staff to verify the coding or other work is consistent and supported by regulations, University guidelines and/or MSRDP Medicine Audit Plan.

Position Summary:
Provides the technical skills involving writing and documenting moderate to complex applications and programs.
