The Position
As a member of the Risk Management Team, the Associate will assist with risk analysis, monitoring, and framework development across Liberty Mutual Investments with a focus in Analytics. This individual will help develop and/or automate new analytics and existing processes. In addition to wide-ranging contributions to risk management and monitoring, this Risk Management professional will help to elevate the firm's risk culture of constructive inquiry and advocate for the broader risk framework, which forms an integral part of LMI's investment process.
Responsibilities
Overseeing and advancing LMI's risk management framework
Develop and/or enhance risk models and the risk framework to effectively manage risks and to improve risk management capabilities.
Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio risk review material, as well as providing ad hoc portfolio and risk analysis as necessary.
Monitoring global market developments and identifying major risks to our portfolio
Relating market conditions, industry and regulatory developments to investment execution
Qualifications
A degree in Computational Finance, Economics, or technical field and 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required. A graduate degree would be a plus. The ideal candidate must also bring the following qualifications:
A strong quantitative background, including statistics, computational or numerical simulation methods, and econometrics
Programming experience in dynamically typed languages, including Python, Excel VBA, SQL
Familiarity with generative AI models
Demonstrated capability to drive projects to successful completion through cross-functional collaboration
Must be a self-starter with ambition and intellectual curiosity, as well as exceptional problem- solving skills, strategic thinking
Knowledge of various types of investments and their characteristics, including equities, fixed income investments, real estate/real assets and alternative investments

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
* Manages an inventory of highly complex litigated claims, with large exposures that require a high degree of specialized technical expertise and coordination, by following company protocols to verify policy coverage, conduct investigations, develop and employ resolution strategies, and authorize disbursements within authority limits. This includes analysis of complex coverage issues requiring strong coverage acumen with respect to a variety of policy forms, involving multiple coverages and coverage parts.
* Ensures exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim, interacting and communicating professionally and effectively, achieving quality and cycle time standards, providing timely updates and responding promptly to inquiries and requests for information.
* Verifies coverage and establishes timely and adequate reserves by reviewing and interpreting policy language and partnering with coverage counsel on more complex matters, estimating potential claim valuation, and following company's claim handling protocols.
* Leads focused investigation to determine independent assessment of liability and damages by gathering pertinent information, such as contracts or other documents, as necessary to verify the facts of the claim.
* Resolves claims by collaborating with internal and external business partners to develop, own and execute a claim resolution strategy, that includes management of timely and adequate reserves, collaborating with coverage experts, negotiating complex settlements, partnering with counsel to manage complex litigation and authorizing payments within scope of authority. Directly negotiates and resolves cases where appropriate and participates in mediations and settlement conferences to resolve files. Attends trial as necessary.
* Establishes and manages claim budgets by achieving timely claim resolution, selecting and actively overseeing appropriate resources, authorizing expense payments and delivering high quality service in an efficient manner.
* Realizes and addresses subrogation/salvage opportunities or potential fraud occurrences by evaluating the facts of the claim and making referrals to appropriate Claim, Recovery or SIU resources for further investigation.
* Achieves quality standards by appropriately managing each claim to ensure that all company protocols are followed, work is accurate and timely, all files are properly documented and claims are resolved and paid timely.
* Keeps senior leadership informed of significant risks and losses by completing loss summaries, identifying claims to include on oversight list, and preparing and presenting succinct summaries to senior management.
* Maintains subject matter expertise and ensures compliance with state/local regulatory requirements by following company guidelines, and staying current on commercial insurance laws, regulations or trends for line of business.
* Mentors, guides, develops and delivers training to less experienced Claim Professionals.

The Position
The Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) team, part of the $22 billion Global Alternative Markets portfolio, is seeking a Senior Analyst or an Associate as the mandate executes on its next phase of growth. The strategy invests holistically across the infrastructure landscape including opportunities in (i) traditional energy, (ii) digital infrastructure, (iii) diversified infrastructure, (iv) renewables, (v) energy transition, and (vi) services and software into the infrastructure ecosystem. E&I's mandate is to deliver compelling, risk-adjusted returns featuring strong downside protection and asymmetric upside. The team leverages subject matter expertise, ability to underwrite complexity, speed to execute, and a peer-oriented go-to-market strategy to establish E&I as a differentiated capital partner of choice. This hire will be an integral member of the E&I team with significant ownership of the investment process across market research, sourcing, underwriting and ongoing portfolio management. Responsibilities
Contribute as an integral member of the E&I Equity team to invest in opportunities across the infrastructure landscape.
Manage investment diligence from start to finish, performing comprehensive analysis and developing recommendations on directs investments, co-investments and fund commitments.

The Position:
As a member of the Risk Management Team, the Associate will assist with risk analysis, monitoring, and framework development across Liberty Mutual Investments with a focus in Analytics. This individual will help develop and/or automate new analytics and existing processes.

The Position:
LMI's Quantitative Solutions team, part of the Global Strategy & Capital Allocation (GSCA) business unit, is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Associate. The Quantitative Solutions team leads the General Account's asset allocation and portfolio construction process, delivering advanced analytics, scenario analysis, and forward-looking insights to guide long-term, annual, and tactical investment decisions within regulatory, rating agency, and portfolio constraints.

The Position
The Capital Solutions team, operating within the $10 billion Global Credit Markets portfolio, is looking to expand its deal teams by adding an additional professional. The team focuses on being a capital partner of choice for companies. We execute on opportunistic transactions across the debt and equity spectrum that span geographies, sectors, and collateral types, targeting teens returns with downside protection. Capital Solutions can invest in private and public credit across security types, including 1st lien, 2nd lien, and mezzanine debt, along with preferred and structured equity. This hire will be a crucial part of a lean team, contributing to the growth and continued success of the Capital Solutions business.
This is a range posting between a Senior Analyst and Associate position and level will be determined by hiring team based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Deal Execution: Partner with senior team members to execute all aspects of deal execution, including investment framing, credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and negotiation, management of the investment committee process, legal documentation, and asset management.
Lead all aspects of due diligence and analysis of investments.
Develop investment committee memoranda and present to investment committees.
Perform detailed financial modeling to support investment decision-making.
Support deal execution, including the development of legal documentation.
Monitor existing investments.
Engage with external partners and management teams.

Qualifications

The Position

The Position:
As a member of the Risk Management Team, the Associate will assist with risk analysis, monitoring, and framework development across Liberty Mutual Investments with a focus in Analytics. This individual will help develop and/or automate new analytics and existing processes.
In addition to wide-ranging contributions to risk management and monitoring, this Risk Management professional will help to elevate the firm's risk culture of constructive inquiry and advocate for the broader risk framework, which forms an integral part of LMI's investment process.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing and advancing LMI's risk management framework
* Develop and/or enhance risk models and the risk framework to effectively manage risks and to improve risk management capabilities.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio risk review material, as well as providing ad hoc portfolio and risk analysis as necessary.
* Monitoring global market developments and identifying major risks to our portfolio
* Relating market conditions, industry and regulatory developments to investment execution
Qualifications
A degree in Computational Finance, Economics, or technical field and 5+ years of relevant work experience is required. A graduate degree would be a plus.
The ideal candidate must also bring the following qualifications:
* A strong quantitative background, including statistics, computational or numerical simulation methods, and econometrics
* Programming experience in dynamically typed languages, including Python, Excel VBA, SQL
* Familiarity with generative AI models
* Demonstrated capability to drive projects to successful completion through cross-functional collaboration
* Must be a self-starter with ambition and intellectual curiosity, as well as exceptional problem- solving skills, strategic thinking
* Knowledge of various types of investments and their characteristics, including equities, fixed income investments, real estate/real assets and alternative investments
* Familiarity with Bloomberg, Aladdin and other standard financial databases and tools preferred
* Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment
* A passion for risk management and a desire to learn about the field
