In December 2019, Wilson assumed his current position as chief digital and client experience officer at Truist Financial Corporation, created through the merger of equals between BB&T Corporation and SunTrust Banks, Inc

Wilson earned his bachelor's degree in management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He is also a T.E.P. graduate of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He is the founder and a board member of I Am My Brother's Keeper inner city mentor program, serves on the board of advisors for the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Wilson is a member of the Truist Foundation board of directors and on the board of Samaritan’s Feet.
