BEACON COLLEGE PREP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GRADUATED ITS FIRST CLASS OF 5TH GRADERS INTO ITS NEWLY ESTABLISHED MIDDLE SCHOOL (UNDER A SEPARATE CHARTER) AND SO WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH ITS 6TH GRADE STUDENTS AS THEY ENTERED MIDDLE SCHOOL. ENROLLMENT CONTINUED TO INCREASE FROM 390 TO 416 AS PLANNED AND WAITLISTS WERE ESTABLISHED FOR EACH GRADE LEVEL. BEACON COLLEGE PREP OPENED ITS MIDDLE SCHOOL IN 2018-19 WITH AN ENROLLMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 189 STUDENTS IN 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADES AND ESTABLISHED WAITLISTS WITH EACH GRADE LEVEL. WE DEVIATED FROM OUR ORIGINAL PLAN OF OPENING WITH A SMALL COHORT OF ONLY 6TH GRADERS IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE STUDENTS FROM THE FORMER CHARTER SCHOOL (FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY) THAT WAS FORCED TO CLOSE BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AT THE END OF THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR. WE THEREFORE ACCEPTED AS MANY FORMER FIA STUDENTS AS POSSIBLE. THE SCHOOL MANAGED THIS SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN GROWTH RELATIVELY WELL AND WE ARE MOST PROUD OF PROVIDING THESE STUDENTS WITH CONTINUITY IN TERMS OF THEIR EDUCATION. IN ADDITION TO LAUNCHING A NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL, OUR MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN 2018-19 WAS THE PURCHASE OF OUR SCHOOL PROPERTY AND THE INVESTMENT OF OVER 2.5M IN BUILDING RENOVATIONS AND PROPERTY UPGRADES BY BEACON COLLEGE PREP, INC. ("CORPORATE"). THIS INCLUDES A NEW BASKETBALL COURT AND PAVILION, FLOOD MITIGATION WORK AND A NEW PARKING LOT, NEW SIDEWALKS AND CANOPIES TO PROTECT STUDENTS FROM RAIN, NEW AND RENOVATED BATHROOMS THROUGHOUT THE CAMPUS, A NEW "TEACHING" EDIBLE ORGANIC GARDEN IN OUR COURTYARD AREA, AND A SERIES OF OTHER IMPORTANT CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS.

This was the worst experience I have ever had as an educator!

The leadership is narcissistic and revengeful! If they don't like you and if you don't go along with the toxic positivity you are treated like crap and not supported!
