REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years of experience in Database or Data Infrastructure Engineering, including 5+ years focused on cloud-based data infrastructure. 5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS data environments (Aurora, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, Athena, etc.) Extensive expertise with PostgeSQL/Aurora, Snowflake, and modern data storage platforms. Strong proficiency in languages supporting databases (SQL, PL-SQL, Python, Shell scripting, etc.). Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize database performance and manage large-scale, high-throughput environments. 5+ years of experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with real-time data platforms (Kafka, Databricks, streaming pipelines). Exposure to data governance, lineage, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.). Familiarity with ML or analytics workflows and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt). Experience with Oracle RDS and migration to modern data stores (Aurora PostgreSQL, Snowflake). Job DescriptionDescription: OuterBox is searching for an AI Solutions Engineer to focus on solution development using a combination of modern web application frameworks and AI. You will work with clients to envision, create, extend and maintain custom tools and applications by integrating various AI and other necessary APIs from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, often utilizing Model-Context Platforms (MCPs) for streamlined deployment and governance. Additionally, this role involves developing automations with SQL, JavaScript and Python to streamline data ETL processes, manage scripts and cloud functions, and ensure seamless API integration across all solutions. This is a mid-level engineering role ideal for developers with experience in JavaScript/Python, API integration, and modern web frameworks who are excited about building AI-enhanced applications. Work with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL) to ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of data foundational to AI applications. Technical Problem-Solving and API Management: Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues related to AI integration and application function. Ensure continuous, smooth operation through seamless API management for all AI-integrated applications and web components. Documentation and Diagramming: Create and maintain clear, precise, and accessible documentation for code, AI workflows, system behaviors, and processes, ensuring technical documentation is readily available for the team and stakeholders. Innovation and DevOps Optimization: Experiment with emerging AI technologies and modern DevOps principles to contribute to streamlining deployment pipelines and improving application management. Continuously monitor industry trends to integrate cutting-edge tools and practices, and optimize application performance within cloud environments, including efficient service utilization and message queue handling. Other duties, as assigned. Requirements: 4+ years of hands-on software engineering or automation experience (experience with JavaScript, Python, or full-stack development). Proficiency in JavaScript and Python for scripting, automation, and API integrations. Basic experience with React or Next.js and comfort working on front-end interfaces. Experience integrating or experimenting with Generative AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain (professional or personal project experience is acceptable). Comfort working in cloud environments, ideally with Google Cloud Functions or similar serverless tools. Basic experience with PostgreSQL or Supabase for database interactions. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down technical challenges into clear steps. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients. Ability to create clear documentation for workflows, processes, and systems. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) Experience building AI-enabled tools, automations, chatbots, or API-driven applications. Experience in a digital marketing, agency, or consulting environment, or comfort working with diverse client use cases. Exposure to system diagramming tools (e.g., Whimsical, Mermaid, Lucidchart). Physical Demands Primarily involves sitting at a desk and using a computer for extended periods of time. Light physical activity is also required, such as carrying equipment or setting up for presentations. Requires a high level of mental focus and the ability to work under pressure. Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and the ability to use a computer for extended periods are required.
