Displays and maintains merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters or tables following company plan-o-gram, building displays when necessary to attract customers and promote sales within specified guidelines by your management team. Maintains on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports including; cycle count, negative on-hand. Follows the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness. Maintains familiarity with new products and ad merchandise. Has sound awareness of surroundings, customers, etc. and practices loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses. Working knowledge of the tools available to operate the store; including, but not limited to: RF Gun, Back Office Procedures and the use of Store Opportunities. Follows GLA policies and procedures for all transactions. Engages the customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively seeking participation from them. This position is 12 hours on average per week, but could be between 6-20 hours occasionally. The position will be set hours, ideally every Thursday and Saturday with the flexibility to cover other days as needed on occasion. Weekend availability is required. The position will be mainly report to Ox-Bow House in Douglas, but will require occasional support of events at our campus in Saugatuck. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Use Square POS system to ring up sales. Clean and organize stock. Clean and beautify the shop and surrounding outdoor areas. Answer questions about merchandise and Ox-Bow in general. Occasional support of retail and/or programming at Ox-Bow House as assigned by the Retail & Program Manager. Other project and event-based support as determined by the Retail & Program Manager and Deputy Director; including but not limited to office, housekeeping, maintenance, and hospitality support. EDUCATION/JOB EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION Though previous retail experience is encouraged, anyone with a passion for art and customer service is welcome to apply. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in an indoor retail space and some rustic, outdoor work environments, at times in high heat and humidity Working environments will sometimes involve hazardous materials and loud noise Requires wearing common protective and safety equipment.
