As the Shop Manager, you will oversee shop employees and various tasks to inspect, repair, assemble, and recondition AC/DC electric motors. You will directly oversee the electric motor mechanics and preppers, their training, and lead their daily activities to complete orders on time. The role will also be responsible for leading the shop employees on various continuous improvement initiatives planned in accordance with the Operations Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Build and maintain a working knowledge of electric motor principles. Plan daily shop activities to maximize productivity and throughput. Train, develop, and monitor performance on both current and new employees. Conduct regular quality checks on every job. Notify proper personnel when shop maintenance and repairs are needed. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and be an advocate for change. Oversee all outside vendor service in relation to motor testing and repair. Work in accordance with safety guidelines in place.
