Job DescriptionDescription: Performs general laborer type work that relates to production operations. This may include positioning and/or remove materials to assist Machine Operators, move finished products utilizing pallets jacks, assist the loading/unloading of raw materials on machines, helping prepare machines for operations, and others as assigned. Perform routine operations related to assembling, pemming, spot welding, drilling, forming, and/or any other operations as needed. Will also assist in loading the raw materials and positioning them prospering on the equipment. Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas. May perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack to move material and stage materials. Adhere to all Jor-Mac and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures. Other duties as assigned or required. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. High school diploma or general education (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a weld fabrication environment preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple correspondence. Ability to understand work orders and follow procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Verify roll inventory number against job tickets Record roll numbers and weight on roll log sheet Prep rolls for splicer and stage rolls in appropriate location Move rolls into position and hang rolls in splicer Check oil levels in units twice each shift and fill as needed Check overflow pans each shift; empty and clean as needed Hang plates on the press Help web press during make ready or web break Return paper to inventory at the end of each job Complete paperwork at the end of each job and each shift Keep work areas clean throughout the shift Work with Lead Operator and train as time allows Participate in continuous improvement process Help Press Assistants as required or directed Ensure production meets department goals and metrics Check conductivity/record once a shift Perform all other duties as assigned Requirements Previous press experience preferred but not required Previous manufacturing experience required Full comprehension in reading work instructions Effective communication skills Ability to use basic math skills including the ability to read a ruler, as well as basic computer skills Must have critical thinking skills and the ability to solve practical problems Must have the ability to work effectively in time-sensitive situations.
