Pros of working at Bechtel Corporation

Non-tiered SOC allows valuable knowledge to be exchanged between all peers regardless of experience level and makes room for gaining experiences in various areas vs those specific to each tier. Salary and benefits are quite nice.

Cons of working at Bechtel Corporation

Work/Life Balance is a struggle. Schedule flexibility Not very much "getting to know you" from Leadership

Bechtel Corporation benefits

Non-tiered SOC and the welcoming from Sr Analysts for entry level Analysts seeking training opportunities the pay also was quite a nice perk

What do you like best about Bechtel Corporation's CEO and the leadership team?

CEO is transparent and is steering the company as a whole in a good direction. I also respect the decision to keep the corporation private and family succeeded.

How would you improve Bechtel Corporation's culture?

For the SOC specifically, when transparency and open-door policies are emphasized, make sure to stand by them. Give overnights more support, it is VERY taxing on all facets of the body - they are just as important as the other team members. Leaders...be patient, actively listen to the voices of those just starting in the industry who are not as experienced as others on the team - their voices and struggles matter; the progress seen in their eyes is just as important as the progress you wish to see.

How did you prepare for the Bechtel Corporation interview?

Several hours a day of practice, practice, practice. Several mock interviews with mentors. Making sure the knowledge I did have, was solid and I was able to articulate it well.

How does your compensation at Bechtel Corporation compare to the industry average?

Not sure. Bechtel was my first SOC analyst job and the compensation was higher than I expected. In my opinion it is rather competitive compared to some of the salary ranges I saw when looking for a SOC Analyst position.

What's the diversity at Bechtel Corporation like?

They do their best to be diverse and inclusive in the way that works for the corporation - I didn't have much concern regarding this aspect of the company culture.

What brings you the most joy at Bechtel Corporation?

Having the progress I make and the effort I am putting in be acknowledged. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone progresses at different paces. Improvements and moments of accomplishments, no matter how small, being acknowledged as highlights among the areas of improvement go a long way in building the confidence of those working in their positions.
