POSITION SUMMARY The Project Safety Professional's primary responsibility is to support the project team in the implementation of Nibbi's Environmental Health & Safety program. Some travel is required between projects. Currently, all Nibbi projects are in the SF Bay Area. This position reports to the Safety Field Operations Manager. The Safety Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of Safety and Team Development but will maintain and plan daily schedule with the appropriate Project Manager(s). The Safety Specialist must possess a higher level of integrity, discipline, accountability, and professionalism than their peers. The Safety Professional is responsible for a multitude of items ranging from safety, equipment issues, quality of workmanship, technical training and the efficient distribution of tools and equipment. Responsible for promoting exceptional Safety/Quality teamwork with INTREN operations teams at customer work sites. This position assists in resolving process problems and performs safety evaluations and workmanship audits, and promotes improved performance by providing mentoring, coaching, and training. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: INTREN Operational Performance: Field Support Perform regular jobsite inspections of all crews to identify unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices. Consistently and fairly enforce all company safety rules. Work with managers and supervisors to apply the proper company disciplinary procedures for those employees who violate safety rules. Ensure OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance. Ensures Damage Prevention standards are utilized and effective. This salary exempt position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Safety. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the facility health and safety program. This will include, but is not limited to, training, sampling, monitoring, site inspections, accident investigations, accident prevention, liaison with governmental agencies, record keeping, workmen's compensation, recommendations for continual improvement and reporting.
