The EHS manager provides leadership and strategic direction to achieve excellence in Environmental, Health, safety, and security (EHSS) performance. He or she ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate all key EHSS programs at the site and ensure plant and applicable regional objectives are met.
Influential leader of the site by promoting a strong safety culture supporting the goal of an injury-free workplace where employees take responsibility for their safety as well as that of others
Prepare and submit all regulatory reports as required by the permit and regulations.
Implement site audit program to promote frequent inspections by site management team to ensure compliance with housekeeping, safe work permitting, energy control (LOTO), job safety analysis, spill prevention, and other EHSS items.
Provide training on EHSS issues, maintain records, determine and obtain appropriate materials ensures plant uses training platforms
Ensure EHSS events are appropriately logged, recorded, and reported on EHS platform. Provide follow-up for EHSS events to ensure that corrective actions are completed and are not reoccurring. Maintains EHSS reporting platform for site
Review and maintain site EHSS documents and ensure that they are complete and follow federal regulations and corporate policies
Provide Incident investigation assistance for all accidents, and near misses. Ensure that the incident is appropriately recorded and reported to internal and external entities. Ensure that all corrective actions are completed and that the issue doesn't recur.
Conduct plant inspections, and housekeeping events and measures are being performed to help keep the site in compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial safety, environmental science, or related technical field required.
At least five years of exempt-level environmental health and safety experience in an industrial setting is required. Safety Knowledge on Hydrogen and Acetylene Systems preferred.
Solid knowledge of OSHA standards (Safe Work Permits, Energy Control, Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, and process safety management etc.), root cause analysis and incident investigation.
General understanding of Texas, US and Harris County environmental regulations, continuous emissions monitoring systems, spill prevention control and counter measure, storm water pollution prevention, waste management, wastewater, and air compliance programs required.
Excellent communication, organization, management, and leadership skills

Myers and Sons received a contract to restore full highway access to State Route 140 on the existing alignment that has been blocked by a rockslide that occurred in 2006. The project will consist of building the Rockshed structure, which will be a reinforced concrete box structure supported on concrete piles and anchored to tie backs into the canyon wall.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements.
- Create, communicate, and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate all Subcontractors Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings acting as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal (OSHA) and state as well as local safety and health regulations.
- Maintain all administrative tasks related to project specific safety documentation/recordkeeping system, including OSHA reports, management reports, training, etc.
- Conduct regularly scheduled site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies
- Attend superintendent meetings and monitor Toolbox Talks/Discussions to ensure documentation and quality
- Perform root cause and accident investigation techniques in the event of a job site accident - including collection of safety and health standard incident reporting forms and documentation working closely with local and Risk Management
- Ability to conduct in-house training on various health and safety related topics.

Field Support

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Project Safety Manager to join our team on our 105 Express Lanes CMGC project in Norwalk, CA.
This project is a multi-year project that will widen the 105 freeway from the 405 to the 605. This widening will increase HOV capacity, reduce congestion along the corridor and introduce tolling to the 105. Phase one of the project is starting at $400 Million, and the remaining phases will push the project towards $1.1 Billion. Responsibilities
- Maintain Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements.
- Create, communicate, and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate all Subcontractors Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings acting as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal (OSHA) and state as well as local safety and health regulations.

The Role We Want You For
The Site Safety Supervisor will provide support to the Project Staff and the Ventana safety team in an effort to execute corporate safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. In addition to your project responsibilities, you shall participate in and complete all assignments designated to you. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in development of a zero injury safety culture on each project, conducting at least weekly documented jobsite safety inspections, effectively communicate orientations for all new project workers, assist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysis, actively promote and participate in daily stretch and flex program, identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents, support corporate goals and initiatives, emphasize and support proactive safety such as near miss/hazard reporting, coach and recognize workers on safe work methods, report all incidents in an effective and timely manner following established protocols and be a champion in motivating workers to perform their jobs safely! The Specifics of the Role
Assist in development of the project safety program.
Establish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees. Administer and record their participation in the orientation program and issue identification to those employees completing the orientation program.
Attend all initial meetings with the project staff and subcontractor representatives to clearly define their role within the confines of the project safety program.
Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with each subcontractor representatives to establish safety procedures prior to subcontractor's activity on site.

Establish and conduct regular (weekly) safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and with project staff to ensure proper compliance.

Ensure and maintain a log of each subcontractor toolbox safety meeting.
Review each subcontractor's safety program and ensure that it meets or exceeds the project safety program requirements.
Ensure that each subcontractor designates a safety representative that is properly trained in subcontractor's scope of work and has the proper authority to correct safety issues.
Conduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections and complete the safety checklist noting safety violations and corrective actions.

The renewables division emphasizes field safety, requiring CHST-certified Safety Managers and OSHA-credentialed Safety Techs to maintain compliance and operational excellence on every site
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Safety Technician, you'll be actively supporting site safety operations on solar construction projects. Reporting to the Safety Manager, your daily tasks will include:
Conducting field-level safety observations and reporting potential hazards
Supporting and enforcing safety protocols among crew members and subcontractors
Performing daily jobsite inspections and ensuring proper use of PPE
Assisting with incident investigations and preparing safety reports
Monitoring work zones to ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific standards
Helping to deliver toolbox talks and safety trainings
Logging safety data and maintaining documentation
Serving as a visible, approachable safety resource to field personnel

This salary exempt position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Safety. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the facility health and safety program. This will include, but is not limited to, training, sampling, monitoring, site inspections, accident investigations, accident prevention, liaison with governmental agencies, record keeping, workmen's compensation, recommendations for continual improvement and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret health, safety and environmental laws, rules and regulations
Development, implementation and monitoring of, but not limited to, the following training: new miner, newly hired experienced miner, task, annual refresher and hazard communication
Development, implementation and monitoring of site inspections and corrective action programs. Must coordinate team efforts to solve problems and implement required actions. Must maintain appropriate administrative documentation for these programs
Coordination of accident investigations and accident reports. Develop, analyze, and report facility statistics and make recommendations to key management personnel
Conduct workmen's compensation related accident investigations
Collect and distribute appropriate statistical information regarding safety for the facility and for appropriate governmental agencies (MSHA, OSHA, etc.)
Write policies that achieve governing agency compliance and are applicable to the operation
Administer facility substance abuse testing programs for both salaried and hourly personnel. Maintain appropriate records and provide reports as required

A minimum of seven (7) years' experience of manufacturing safety management. (Experience in a mining operation preferred.)
