Project Overview: Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers. Job Summary: In this role, you will integrate safety and health requirements into complex project planning, design, and operations to reduce the potential for adverse impacts. You will perform risk assessments, provide input on bid decisions, lead meetings and communications, and track and monitor performance trends. Your recommendations will contribute to enhanced quality of safety procedures and work processes. Under general supervision, the ES&H Representative will be responsible for supporting construction activities and implementation of the PALNG Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) Execution Plan. To achieve the necessary level of field support, this role requires a significant portion of the shift actively engaged with field work personnel, accessing high elevation work areas via multi-level stairs, temporary scaffold ladders, and aerial work platforms. Your leadership and field engagement will help our project achieve ES&H performance expectations, compliance, and continuous improvement. Major Responsibilities: * Provides assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to include aiding compliance with Bechtel's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments * Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities * Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions * Performs statistical analysis of ES&H data to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement * Identifies and supports any unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel * Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues * Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention * Assists with incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports * Recommends and implements improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential * Participates in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs * Researches moderately complex issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice * Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines Education and Experience Requirements: * Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: * Provide safety technical support, coordinate safety requirements, and formulate risk reduction measures with engineering, construction, subcontractors, and other ES&H Representatives. * Offer coaching and mentoring within assigned areas to improve at-risk conditions and behaviors. * Engage with customers, project team members, and subcontractors to advise on ES&H requirements. * Identify and act on opportunities for improvement through construction supervision (i.e., Foreman/General Foreman/ Superintendents), ensuring corrective actions are taken, e.g., mitigating the observed dropped object potential. * Lead and participate in incident investigations, prepare Initial Incident Notifications, conduct investigations, and complete Incident Investigation Reports within quality and timeframe expectations. * Attend and support daily Pre-Start and Focus4Safety Card Meetings, ensuring presence at the designated work location by shift start time. * Participate in and support ES&H Program activities, such as Leadership Engagement Walkdowns, Near Miss Reporting, Weekly Supervisor Safety Meetings, and the Supervisor Mentoring Program. * Knowledge of national environmental and safety laws/regulations, industry standards/practices for compliance, and best management practices for minimizing ES&H risks during project execution. * Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes. * Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education. * Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite. The ES&H Representative is a field-based role, providing support to management, supervision, craft professionals and subcontractors. Additional Information: This position has a work scope that includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Project Overview: Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Job Summary: The Industrial Hygiene Technician (Grade 25) supports the Project ESH team by executing day‑to‑day exposure monitoring and program tasks that help identify workplace hazards, quantify exposures, and implement practical controls across construction, commissioning, and field operations. The role performs instrument setup/calibration, air and noise sampling, data management, and field coaching to ensure work is planned and performed in alignment with Bechtel's ESH Management System and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NIOSH, EPA). This position requires flexibility to work standard day shifts and provide coverage for evening and night shifts as operational needs dictate. Major Responsibilities: * Exposure monitoring & sampling: Plan and perform routine and task based monitoring for airborne contaminants (e.g., solvents, silica, metals), noise (dosimetry and surveys), heat stress, and other IH stressors. Set up, calibrate, and operate pumps and direct reading instruments; maintain sampling records and chain of custody. * Data Interpretation and Monitoring: Data interpretation & reporting.
