About the Role:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with individuals, managing engineering firms, and following processes and standards to ensure the Company achieves reliable, quality, and safe designs. This person will be responsible for facilitating the design process from conceptual through IFC design. They will be responsible for managing 3rd party engineering firms, working with CSI internal engineering resources, and being the project lead in all aspects of project design. This responsibility will align and work with the construction team to ensure they have the necessary design information, quantities, and parameters to build the work. They will support the project design by ensuring the design meets the contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirement from Client, Company, and Industry Specifications and Standards. This position will have travel and project responsibilities to support the site team and lead design reviews as required. This position will not manage or supervise the construction activities performed on the project site.

Essential Functions
Manage and direct multiple 3rd party design firms working towards Issued for Construction Drawings for Electrical, Civil, and Structural designs.
Coordinate and lead design reviews at each design milestone. Design reviews will likely include the owner, CSI, and 3rd party personnel.
Perform the overall coordination and integration of technical activities in engineering projects and services. Direct and review project designs and technology integration.
Work with project managers to facilitate design understanding as the start of construction occurs. Ensure there is understanding of the intent of the design and how the design will be audited throughout the construction phase.
Seek opportunities to add value to the project. Perform economic analysis/value engineering to determine cost-effective solutions and prepare written recommendations. Ensure value engineering is incorporated into future designs.
Manage 3rd party engineering resources to ensure deadlines are met, and the construction team has the necessary engineering information to produce a quality project on schedule.
Maintain and manage engineering schedules and budgets to meet the requirements of the project. Possess a full understanding of time and resource management to achieve the results needed for project deadlines.
Review and facilitate approval of materials to be used on the project by attaining Engineer of Record approvals or other resources available.
Ensure takeoffs are complete and accurate for material procurement.
Nurture and maintain key professional relationships with utilities, owners, engineering firms, energy subject matter experts, and others.
Coordinate, lead, and document regularly scheduled calls between applicable parties.
Assure projects are designed and constructed according to all applicable safety standards, including ASTM, NESC, NEC, NFPA, etc.
Ensure design deliverables are received in time to support procurement and project schedule.
Acts as a technical resource for project construction teams.
Acts as engineering liaison for the construction team, 3rd party Engineer of Record, Client, and internal engineering resources from award through completion.
Responsible for engineering document control process, including client and engineering transmittals, RFI's, and associated logs.
Apply for and complete local permits as specified by the contract.
Ensure that each design is developed with consideration for efficient installation, maintenance, and repair. Consult Field Operations Manager and Trade Superintendents as necessary for recommendations.
Review implications of project design changes and make recommendations
Recognize, document, and report cost impacts due to design changes. Share impacts with project management and procurement team.
Perform economic analysis/value engineering to determine cost-effective solutions and prepare written recommendations.
Train and develop Field Engineers and Field Coordinators in engineering management, document control, and RFI processes.
About You:
Qualifications
BS in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering.
Minimum of three years in the solar + BESS EPC, with a strong knowledge of construction sequencing, construction methods, and materials practices, including knowledge of electrical systems.
OSHA 30 certification desired, but not mandatory.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) status or qualified to take test desired, but not mandatory.
Can be a combination of trade, education, and relevant work experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Database experience is a plus.
Experience with Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
Positive and proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
Excellent reasoning skills for identifying strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Ability to ensure the outcome and results from work performed and effective resources.
Knowledge of electrical power engineering principles and familiarity with computer and analytical tools related to equipment sizing, load flow, and power quality.
Ability to monitor and assess the personal performance and the performance of other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Work Environment
Works in the office 70% of the time and on-site 30% of the time

Assist in Scan-to-BIM workflows including LiDAR scanning and point cloud processing.
Produce highly detailed 3D models using Revit, consistent with AEC industry guidelines, and LiRo standards and practices.
Create design and construction documentation including axonometric 3D views, sections and elevations.
Create 4D models using resource loaded P6 schedules and Fuzor/Synchro.
Create renderings and simulations on an as-needed basis for marketing or project use
Use tools such as Navisworks and ACC to support project collaboration and coordination across multiple disciplines.
Interface with Construction/Design teams to coordinate BIM content and approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.
Visualize and create reports on an ongoing basis.
Troubleshoot BIM software and platform issues and stay current with emerging tools and technologies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an AEC-related discipline.
Min. 3 years of hands-on experience working as a BIM/VDC Professional.
Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
Proficiency in Autodesk products such as Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and ACC Model Coordination.
Strong Revit Modeling experience.
Experience performing and utilizing 3D laser scans on projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Public Sector clients / projects is highly preferred .
Experience with software development using Revit APIs, Python, and Dynamo is a plus.
Familiarity with Bentley software, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, or IBM Maximo is advantageous.
Experience utilizing data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus.

We are currently looking for a Construction Project Engineer who is ready to engage in a large alternative delivery (CMGC) project in Los Angeles County. This project is a multi-year project that will add bus lanes from North Hollywood to Pasadena. This widening will increase BRT lanes and capacity. This position will integrate with the project's civil team that focuses on MOT, Roadway, Concrete Pavement, Drainage, Electrical and Overhead Signs. Your role on the civil team will depend on your desires as well as strengths and previous experience. The project consists of replacing the existing historical bridge with a combination of a flat slab bridge and parabolic box girder. Work includes large diameter CIDH pile, falsework, trestle and bridge post tensioning. The project is expected to be completed over the course of two seasons.
We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Vista and be detailed oriented. In addition to office tasks, this person will work closely with the project superintendent to develop and execute work plans and perform construction layout using AutoCAD and Lecia surveying equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Gray Construction is looking to add a Japanese Speaking Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to their Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA office. Responsibilities Why Gray? Develop, update and monitor job progress using QMS program, including scheduling, estimating and budgeting to ensure that construction of project parallels with schedule.
Perform quantity take off(s), cost estimates and bid solicitation.
Provide research options and regulation information as required.
Purchase and coordinate the delivery of certain materials for the project(s) ensuring optimum prices, quality and conformance to specifications and budget.
Reviews and approves invoices and change orders.
Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for specific trades ensuring that all scope is encompassed.
Review vendor and subcontractor shop drawing submittals for construction as directed by the supervisor.
Relocate to specific job sites (if required) in order to become familiar with procurement and construction practices.
Attend weekly job site meetings. Assist in the preparation of various reports to assist in the successful management of the project(s), such as: monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings and status reports.
Assist in the organization and maintenance of job files to ensure continuity of work flow. Submit verbal and written reports on project status to supervisor.
Communicate effectively with customer, direct consultants and subcontractors on the project(s).
Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray's safety program on site.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and a minimum of three years related experience.
Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications. May also require working knowledge of scheduling applications.

Overview
Assist with the execution of CM services over an Design Build Healthcare construction project.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides project support with the construction documentation process which includes RFI's, Submittals, Change Orders, Schedules, and Warranties/Operations/Maintenance manuals.
Participate in As-Built documentation processes while in construction and at Closeout.
Assist with all DSA documentation during construction in preparation for Closeout/Certification.
Assist with verbal and written communications to the District, Architects, and Contractors.
Maintain project documents through completion and certification.
Participate in coordination of project meetings and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
Assist with performing change order analysis.
Assist with project Punchlist development, tracking, and resolution.
Assist the Project Manager/Construction Manager with preparing project reports.
Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is preferred.
2 or more years of experience assisting Construction/Project Managers on construction project is preferred.
Experience working on vertical building public sector projects such as commercial buildings, courthouses, K-12, Hospitals, Public Safety, Higher Education, Civic and Municipal.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong verbal, writing, and computer skills are required.
Ability to perform construction quantity take-offs and assist with Change Order evaluations required.
Strong understanding of the DSA approval and certification process is strongly preferred.
Proficient user skills with the MS Suite of tools and Bluebeam are required.
Working knowledge of standard industry tools such as P6 and Procore is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of construction estimating, scheduling, general construction principles, techniques, and site safety is strongly preferred.
License and Certifications
Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required.
Travel Requirements
Position based in Sacramento region, with potential to work from headquarters and later transfer to the project site. Requires potential travel once a month up to 100 miles and availability to travel between projects and offices as needed and when required by the project.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Project Engineer I $72,000 - $80,000 Yearly
