The Freedom Foundation seeks a Conservative/Libertarian Litigation Counsel who is licensed in one or more states the Foundation expects litigation and/or willing to get admitted to practice in these states. The Foundation strongly desires the Counsel to work in either its Olympia or Dallas offices, although other locations will be considered.
Organizational & Job Details
Freedom Foundation is an aggressive and effective conservative/libertarian organization devoted to public-sector labor reform. With employees throughout the nation, we work to defeat forced unionism and diminish the undue political influence wielded by Big Labor. We do this by informing workers of their rights and protecting and enhancing those rights in the courts. Success in this fight is a fundamental prerequisite to expanding freedom and prosperity across the country.
The Litigation Counsel will join an experienced, committed, and hard-working litigation team under the direction of the Foundation's Chief Litigation Counsel. The subject matter includes First Amendment, open government, administrative, civil rights, and related cases. It also provides legal support and defense for the Foundation in its outreach and messaging efforts. The Foundation's attorneys love what they do, enjoy working together, have fun, and passionately believe in the mission. Though we work collaboratively, the Litigation Counsel must be a self-starter and capable of managing his or her own caseload.
The Litigation Counsel's job duties will include:
Creating, filing, and aggressively pursuing legal actions in federal and state courts and administrative agencies against governments, public sector labor unions, and their allies who violate workers' rights;
Writing legal opinions, briefs, articles, memos, blog posts, and analyses;
Communicating about the Foundation's legal activities to supporters, the media, and the general public;
Working with Foundation staff to advance union reform and other key objectives;
Advising Foundation staff as they advance other facets of the Foundation's mission;
Cultivating partnerships with like-minded legal organizations and attorneys;
Public speaking at Foundation and other events.
Qualifications
Applicants with significant intensive litigation or related experience are preferred, all applicants with five or more years of litigation experience will be considered;
Possess excellent academic credentials, a strong and entrepreneurial work ethic, and the ability to persevere under adversity;
Possess excellent legal research and writing skills;
Be licensed to practice law in a state the Foundation expects to engage in litigation;
Believe, share, and be able to express the Foundation's mission and values;

Responsibilities
The BehaviorAnalyst develops and monitors individual behavior treatment programs for the clinic, residential and extended care patients. Work is full time during the weekdays and may require some on-call work. Work is performed primarily at the clinic, the residential site, and minimal time in the community.
Develops and monitors individual behavior programs and data systems.
Reports all such programs and/or changes to the Director of Behavior Programming, Director of Rehabilitation, Clinical Case Managers, and/or Behavior Program Coordinator.
Consults with clinical and residential staff to receive input on the implementation and effectiveness of each program.
Reviews behavior programs as required with clinical therapists and other relevant staff. Requires verbal ability to effectively express ideas and programs when speaking to patients, patients' families, and personnel.
Reviews behavior data, module results and generates appropriate statistics. Requires ability to analyze data and calculate totals using calculator and/or computer.
Distributes programs and program changes to appropriate personnel. Monitors behavior database to include new, updated information and discontinue irrelevant information. May require visual ability and fine motor manipulation to manage computer input.
Provides discharge recommendations related to behavior. Provide training as needed to transition behavior programs to the home environment.
Performs reporting procedures.
Conducts clinic behavior staffing's, training and programming as required. Makes rounds of clinic therapies, trains staff and reviews program implementation. Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, and participation in program implementation activities such as physical exercises and cognitive skill exercises. Must have the ability to coordinate, participate in, lead, and teach such programs.
Experience and Education
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavior Analysis or related field of expertise. Board Certified Assistant BehaviorAnalyst or Board Certified BehaviorAnalyst preferred or eligibility for certification.
Work Experience: Working knowledge of rehabilitative care required. Prior direct care experience working with the brain injury population of persons served is preferred.

What to expect in a typical day:
Facilitate a team approach toward treatment in a clinical setting
Train, supervise, and mentor behavior therapists
Implement, monitor, collect, and evaluate data.

Qualifications
Masters in a Behavior related field

Responsibilities
Direct Client Care: Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings including our Centers, homes and/or schools.
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by BCBAs to address specific behavioral goals and objectives for each client.
Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Progress Monitoring: Collaborate with the supervising BCBAs to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and adjust intervention plans as needed.
Behavior Reduction Techniques: Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors.
Skill Acquisition: Assist clients in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities, and appropriate social behaviors.
Parent/Caregiver Training: Provide training and support to parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention techniques and strategies in the home environment.
Professionalism: Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality.
Documentation: Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
Communication: Maintain open communication with the BCBAs, parents/caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's treatment.
Qualifications
Passion for working with children and helping others.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must meet all BACB eligibility requirements to obtain RBT certification.
Ability to pass the required RBT certification exam within the training period.
Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through the BACB.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior and
de-escalate situations with clients.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, running and/or
sitting in order to interact with clients.
Must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds to assist with client positioning or mobility.
Adequate vision and hearing are needed to work with clients and staff.
Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment and other
necessary tools.
