The position may involve services provided in the designated BHS clinic, driving to persons served homes or various locations within the community where services are provided (if services are offered on-site according to the program and funding source.) It may include telehealth services utilizing both audio and visual communication with individuals. BHPs provide individual, family and group counseling, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, initial assessments to determine level of care, treatment planning, case presentations, presenting psychoeducational information to individuals regarding diagnosis, symptoms, medications, relapse prevention and safety planning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Primary focus is on providing comprehensive clinical services and therapy which includes biopsychosocial assessments, screening and placement for level of care, diagnosis, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, brief interventions utilizing evidence-based care and tools and educational counseling services to a caseload of person's served consisting of adults and children.
•Community- based mental health services which includes services in the persons served home, school or community location in addition to office and telehealth clinical services.

Purpose & Impact:
The purpose of the Behavior Support Specialist is to perform professional work in behavior management of pre-school children, training and coaching for staff and parents, case management including referral for psycho-educational and mental health services. Responsible for developing, modeling interventions, and monitoring the child's progress and linking parents/families to mental health and/or psycho-educational services. Successful experience working with pre-school age children with behavioral concerns. The work involves linking parents/families to community services, providing support, making referrals and following up on referrals, designing and implementing classroom behavior support plans, providing mental health and behavioral management education to parents and staff, planning and consulting with the contracted mental health professionals. This work is performed under the supervision of the Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is reviewed through conferences, reports and evaluations of program effectiveness. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.
Essential Functions:
Provides parents support to access necessary resources and conducts in-home follow-up, monitoring and training to assure consistency between parents and teachers as needed Teaches effective parenting skills.
Participates in the multi-disciplinary case management team meetings, individual and staff conferences, health services advisory meetings, team meetings and other appropriate meetings, as necessary.
Performs case management services when appropriate through referrals to mental health service providers, psycho-educational services and other appropriate community agencies and resources.

Provide regular parent/caretaker training

Develop individualized goals and objectives for home, community, and school-based programs and design behavior support plans based on functional assessment data.
Teach Registered Behavioral Technicians the proper implementation of clinical behavior programs and plans, data collection systems, and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems.
Conduct regular caregiver and/or teacher training.
Be responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and conducting weekly supervision meetings with Registered Behavior Technicians.
Update client program and materials.
Arrive at appointments, meetings, training, etc. at the scheduled time and return phone calls, electronic mail, and other correspondence in a timely fashion.
Conduct self in a professional manner and treat all clients, customers, co-workers, and others with dignity, respect, and in a culturally sensitive manner.
Meet regularly with the Clinical Director and notify her/him immediately of issues impacting the client's progress and satisfaction.
Maintain records in accordance with policies and procedures and complete all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Maintain a billable caseload and document billable hours according to state and federal regulation.
Participate in professional meetings or conferences deemed to be beneficial to Mindful Sprouts and professional growth.
Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Mindful Sprouts.
Requirements:
Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, special education, social work, speech-language pathology, or related field required; Ph.D. preferred.
BCBA certification and/or licensed professional.
At least 1 year of experience serving individuals with ASDs or related diagnoses with a full range of skills and abilities (preferred).
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior-analytic therapies.
Experience with staff training and supervision.
Excellent writing and communication skills; be highly organized with the ability to multitask.
Able to work well as part of a team.
Must have successfully passed a criminal background screening.
