YOUR LIFE AS AN ENTRY-LEVEL ABA THERAPIST

Available to work Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-3:30 PM or 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

As an entry-level ABA Therapist, you play a direct role in helping children with autism develop their skills and reach their full potential. You collaborate with the client's parents and other personnel to develop individualized behavior intervention plans that best suit the client's needs. While implementing these plans, you diligently collect and record data concerning their target behaviors. You regularly meet with supervisors and attend team meetings to discuss the client's progress and update their goals accordingly.

Whether you are working in the home, at school, or in the community, you approach every ABA therapy session with patience and a positive attitude. You are always prepared to safely intervene with a client's undesirable behaviors, such as mouthing items, running away from the session, and engaging in self-harming actions. Creatively, you create new stimuli for the program, whether to make the session more engaging or to offer a new type of reinforcer for the client. You are a caring person who feels fulfilled by helping children with autism reach their targets and increase their skills!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass minimum competency training
• Ability to pass a livescan fingerprint check upon hire
• Heart for working with children with special needs

What We Are Looking For:Show a strong interest in working with kids Have previous experience working with children (preferred) Available in the afternoon/early evening Bilingual skills a plus but not required Must have own reliable transportation, and valid driver's license, auto registration and auto insurance Proof of immunization records and TB required Background check
Physical Requirements:Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending and carrying up to 50 pounds Work may involve playing with children that can occur on the floor or settings where the furniture is child size Diligently attending to the safety of the child and surroundings is required Quick and sudden movements may be required Sustained physical exertion may be required for up to 45 minutes

Position Description
The primary role of the Behavioral Interventionist is to support scholars with IEPs through small group instruction, push-in classroom support, and reading intervention. The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors.

Job Responsibilities
• Assist scholars with behavioral challenges in and outside the classroom
• Provide support to students with special education needs to achieve IEP goals
• Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher
• Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groups
• Conduct academic assessments
• Provide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
• Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics
• Work and assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students
• Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
• Maintain high behavioral expectations for scholar behavior at all times and enforce Equitas Academy's positive discipline policies
• Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders
• May provide adaptive supports with eating and toileting
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• AA degree or equivalent required
•BA degree preferred
• Knowledge and experience in ABA
• Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test
• Previous experience working with and supervising children
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment
