• To work in a fast-paced and often intense learning environment to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Essential components of this position are listed below but subject to change at the discretion of NMP. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients to promote optimal learning
Follows a treatment plan utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation
Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills
Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording
Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
Educates members of the treatment team that are key caregivers for the individual being treated
Performs tasks requested by the case supervisor within boundaries of the BT role when providing treatment
Completes assessments during treatment to gather information and clinical findings to report to the case supervisor to communicate progress and changes

POSITION OVERVIEW:
BehaviorTechnicians implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs with CARD patients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans are designed to address skill acquisition as well as challenging behavior reduction and may occur in a variety of settings including the CARD center, patient's home, school, community, or via telehealth. BehaviorTechnicians report to the CARD Operations Manager. This position has no direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct treatment to patients under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor in a 1:1 or group environment
Provide treatment that exceeds CARD's clinical quality standards
Collect and record data on patient progress with high fidelity
Review and implement Clinical Supervisor feedback during each treatment session

Behavior technician job in Hammond, LA
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or G.E.D. is required
Must be at least 18 years of age
One year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred
One year experience in a clinical setting required
Proficient in English language
Certification in Basic Life Support
Certification in non-violent crisis intervention
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and implement the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of The Maples
Demonstrates teamwork by carrying out routine and assigned tasks within the Maples program
Assists clinician with patient care tasks and therapist with therapeutic interventions
Assists in the provision of maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by monitoring and complying with program rules and policies
Observes patients in accordance with prescriber orders and facility policy; documents and reports findings to shift nurse immediately if behavior and/or activity is significant
Conducts and documents safety rounds per policy
Provides assistance in management of patients who exhibit escalating behavior, in accordance with hospital training and policy
Documents client activities, significant occurrences, observed behavior, vital signs, and other findings as assigned by the nursing staff and determined by facility policy
Assists patients in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. This may include hygiene, grooming, toileting, eating, and other functions
Displays flexibility and willingness to work with others
Identifies opportunities for improvement and offers solutions; discusses with appropriate personnel (i.e., supervisors)
Consistently demonstrates vision, foresight, good judgment, and customer sensitivity
Models productive, healthy behavior, and interactions with co-workers, clients, and others
Performs job with efficiency necessary to complete assignments within established time frames and procedural guidelines
Organizes and prioritizes work while being cost-effective and conserving resources
Deals constructively with stress
Offers and accepts constructive feedback and responds appropriately to direction
Is punctual in all aspects of work and adheres to the attendance and dress code policy
Exhibits good physical and mental health as evidenced by a warm, empathic attitude
Shows respect for the dignity and worth of others
Demonstrates a high sense of personal integrity
Performs other duties and special projects as required

The Behavioral Health Technician reports to and is accountable to the Director of Nursing.
