JOB GOAL

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred 1-2 years experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
Must have a high school diploma or GED;
Must be willing to obtain and maintain the qualifications of Registered BehaviorTechnician certification.
Must have updated child abuse and FBI clearances, criminal background check and have completed the mandated reporter training.

These therapeutic programs are designed to provide 24/7 residential and intensive treatment supports for adults with a variety of psychiatric and health related needs. Individuals requiring this level of care have access to a variety of services including individual and group therapies, psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, peer support, psychiatric rehabilitation and medication management. The multidisciplinary treatment team is comprised of staff that includes a psychiatrist, mental health professionals, licensed nurses, peer specialists, and direct care staff. Services are delivered both on-site and in natural community settings to maximize learning opportunities. Our focus is to assist individuals in developing skills, increasing their independence and stabilizing their psychiatric and physical health symptoms with the goal of moving into lesser structured settings.
The Mental Health Technician works from a recovery framework within the team providing individual supportive counseling and psychoeducational groups using therapeutic interventions (evidenced based practices preferred), cultural competence and trauma informed care to help individuals obtain their recovery goals.
The Mental Health Technician will provide direct services to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene and ADL's, as well as assistance with all tasks necessary for maintaining a therapeutic community and residence.

What Will I Do?
You will work collaboratively with the treatment team members to ensure the treatment plan is meeting the youth's needs.
You will provide 1:1 support and interventions when required including behavior modification techniques and crisis interventions a strategies as outlined in the treatment plan.
You will support caregivers in their efforts to stabilize the child by providing information, guidance, and modeling of intervention techniques.
You will assist in the management of behavioral escalation by way of using de-escalation and behavior manamement techniques taught by the master's clinician and/or supervisor.
You will work in traditional as well as non-traditional settings (i.e., home, school, day care, community, etc.) to meet the needs of the child.
You will effectively document daily progress and relay information to team members, supervisors, and other staff as required.
You will ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
You will participate in individual and/or group supervision as required.
Hours of Work
Schedule and hours are determined by client needs. Services are provided in area schools, client homes, and community settings as indicated.

JOB GOAL
The Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT) works with students individually and in small groups and is responsible for behavior-analytic interventions to reduce problem behavior, remediation of skill deficits, and daily paperwork and behavioral date recording. BHT's/RBT's help with classroom management, de-escalation of problem behaviors, problem solving skills training, supporting academic and behavior goals; and supervising activities of daily living.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement continuous measurement procedures (e.g., frequency, duration).
Implement discontinuous measurement procedures (e.g., partial & whole interval, momentary time sampling).
Implement permanent product recording procedures.
Describe behavior and the environment in observable and measurable terms.
Conduct preference assessments.
Identify the essential components of a written skill acquisition plan.
Prepare for the session as required by the skill acquisition plan.
Use contingencies of reinforcement (e.g., conditioned/unconditioned reinforcement, continuous/intermittent schedules).
Implement generalization and maintenance procedures.
Assist with the training of stakeholders (e.g., family, caregivers, other professionals).
Implement written behavior reduction plan.
Complete clinical notes and other tasks necessary for billing purposes using CentralReach.
Describe common functions of behavior.
Implement extinction procedures.
Implement crisis/emergency procedures according to protocol.
Implement interventions based on modification of antecedents such as motivating/establishing operations.
Implement differential reinforcement procedures.
Implement discrete trial teaching procedures.
Naturalistic teaching procedures (e.g., incidental teaching).
Create and provide instruction using task analysis and chaining procedures.
Implement discrimination training and stimulus control transfer procedures.
Implement stimulus fading and prompt fading procedures.
Generate objective session notes by describing what occurred during sessions.
Report other variables that might affect the client's behavior (e.g., illness, relocation, medication).

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred 1-2 years' experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
Must have a high school diploma or GED;
Must be willing to obtain and maintain the qualifications of Registered BehaviorTechnician certification.
Must have updated child abuse and FBI clearances, criminal background check and have completed the mandated reporter training.
