Opal Autism Centers is dedicated to fostering an environment where aspiring professionals can learn and grow in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As a Registered BehaviorTechnician in Training, you will embark on a rewarding journey to become a certified RBT while gaining hands-on experience in providing essential support to children with autism and their families. This role offers you the opportunity to receive mentorship from experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and learn the principles of behavior analysis in a supportive and dynamic workplace. Your contributions will help create meaningful changes in the lives of our clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.
Training Schedule & Certification Requirements
At Opal Autism Centers, we provide paid, structured training designed to prepare every new team member for success as a Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT). All new hires are compensated at a flat training rate of $11.00/hour (non-negotiable) during this period. Once the RBT certification is obtained, and client sessions begin, the pay rate will increase to the agreed upon rate within the employment offer letter.
RBT with an expired certification or BehaviorTechnician with a Valid 40-Hour RBT Training Certificate of Completion
If you are not currently certified but hold a valid 40-hour RBT training certificate of completion or are within the BACB renewal grace period, your training schedule will be as follows:
Weeks 1-2: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Week 3: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Candidate's Without a 40-Hour RBT Training Certificate of Completion
If you do not hold a valid 40-hour RBT training certificate of completion or are outside the renewal grace period, you are required to complete the full Opal RBT training program. You schedule will be as follows:
Weeks 1-2: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
Weeks 3-4: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
*If you are already enrolled in an external RBT training program but have not completed the 40-hour training and obtained your certificate of completion by your employment start date, you will be enrolled into Opal's RBT training program and be required to complete the full training program (no exceptions).
Responsibilities
Participate in and complete the 40-hour RBT training program to develop knowledge and skills in behavior analysis
Shadow and assist RBTs and BCBAs in implementing treatment plans
Collect and record electronic data on client behaviors and progress
Engage clients in therapeutic activities to facilitate their learning and growth
Communicate with families about their child's daily progress
Attend team meetings and training sessions to further your understanding of ABA principles
Maintain adherence to ethical guidelines and regulations per BACB guidelines
Requirements
Passion for working with children and individuals with special needs
High school diploma or GED; further education in psychology, special education, or related fields is a plus
Willingness to complete the RBT training program and attain certification
Ability to obtain CPR certification before your employment start date
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Commitment to ethical standards in behavior analysis practice
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desire to learn and grow professionally in the field of behavior analysis
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and sit/stand/squat throughout the day
Comfortable working fully on-site in a center-based setting

· Carry out all aspects of patient care and other assignments as directed by the Charge Nurse.
· Observe whether specialized services may be needed and communicate to the Charge Nurse/RN.
· Perform ongoing observation of the patients and milieu to ensure active treatment is provided and patients are participating.
· Respond appropriately and timely to patient requests.
· Report changes in patients' condition or behavior to the Charge Nurse/RN, including agitation, high-risk behaviors, changes in vital signs, and eating, sleeping, and toileting patterns
· Intervene appropriately with patients experiencing a behavioral crisis situation, i.e., suicidal, threatening behavior, elopement and/or other situations, using approved interventions.
· Initiate and/or participate in provision of emergency medical care when indicated.
· Provide support and direct assistance to patients who are unable to attend to their activities of daily living by assisting them with meals, daily grooming, ambulation and toileting as needed.
· Participate with the treatment team in implementation of the individualized plan of care. Report factors that may impede successful accomplishment of the treatment plan to the Charge Nurse/RN.
· Provide patient educational information for identified learning needs.
· Facilitate educational/activity groups as assigned or when indicated using approved materials. Recommend alternative activities based on patient functioning level and treatment plan.
· Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and/or policies by patients, visitors, and staff.
SHIFT SUPPORT
· Review assignment sheet and program designated communication tools each shift, i.e. communication log, bulletin boards, etc.
· Facilitate a therapeutic and safe environment.
· Remain on-duty until coverage for subsequent shift arrives on unit and has received verbal report.
· Ensure all patient valuables retained at the hospital during inpatient stay are recorded and stored per policy.
· Ensure patients are discharged with all personal belongings, medications, prescriptions, discharge, and referral information.
· Perform environmental and safety rounds and complete environmental check sheet as assigned. Act to mitigate risk and report identified problems to the Charge Nurse/RN.
· Comply with National Patient Safety Goals and provide immediate feedback if non-compliance is identified.
CUSTOMER INTERACTION
· Interact with patients, family members, external entities and internal staff professionally and respectfully.
· Work collaboratively with all treatment team members to create a treatment environment that supports the facility's mission to provide exemplary patient care and customer service.
· Act to preserve patient and family dignity and safety.
DOCUMENTATION
· Documentation for medical records and reports is timely, legible, thorough, and in required format.
· Document as required including patient observations/activity, patient education and incident reports.

POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Therapist/Counselor will oversee the therapeutic services provided to a caseload of patients. This individual will act as the treatment plan coordinator for the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and the discharge plan for each patient. The Therapist/Counselor will provide individual, group and family therapy for assigned patients, as required by contractual and licensure obligations. The Therapist/Counselor will complete all documentation associated with these duties in a professional and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provide counseling, assessments and group facilitation to individuals and families
Coordinate all aspects of direct clinical care from admission to discharge
Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide quality patient care
Provide orientation and education to patients, families and others to aid in the therapeutic process
Collaborate with assigned patients in the development of written treatment plans; include patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning
Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions
Document clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care
Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with employees and peers
Maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times
Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
Provide clinical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services
Coordinate with community based providers and referral sources to ensure optimal levels of care and treatment outcomes, post discharge
Case staffing and individual case supervision

Adhere to all company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree of Mental Health, Social Sciences or commensurate experience required
Must hold an active substance abuse or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment
Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients assigned
Must hold strong personal boundaries and able to build rapport with patients

Job Title: Inpatient Therapist/Counselor
Reports To: Lead Counselor
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm OR 10am-6:30pm
Compensation: $31-43/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Therapist/Counselor will oversee the therapeutic services provided to a caseload of patients. This individual will act as the treatment plan coordinator for the multi-disciplinary team in the development and implementation of the master treatment plan and the discharge plan for each patient. The Therapist/Counselor will provide individual, group and family therapy for assigned patients, as required by contractual and licensure obligations. This person will actively communicate with support staff, treatment teams, and outside agencies on treatment and safety issues pertaining to patients and their family members. The Therapist/Counselor will complete all documentation associated with these duties in a professional and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provide counseling, assessments and group facilitation to individuals and families
Coordinate all aspects of direct clinical care from admission to discharge
Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide quality patient care
Provide orientation and education to patients, families and others to aid in the therapeutic process
Collaborate with assigned patients in the development of written treatment plans; include patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning
Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions
Document clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care
Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with employees and peers
Maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times
Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
Provide clinical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services
Coordinate with community based providers and referral sources to ensure optimal levels of care and treatment outcomes, post discharge
Case staffing and individual case supervision
Facilitate individual and group therapy
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree of Mental Health, Social Sciences or commensurate experience required
Must hold an active substance abuse or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment
Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients assigned
Must hold strong personal boundaries and able to build rapport with patients
Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board
