JOB SUMMARY:
Behavioral Health Technicians will report to the Program Director and will be responsible for the management of patients in our 6 bed Social Rehabilitation Residential Program in Castaic, CA.
DUTIES:
Assists with admission/intake procedures on new residents including all paperwork, room assignments, and initial orientation.
Conducts property searches of residents as required by program standards.
Performs urine drug screen testing of residents as required.

Ability to write clear (and concise) statements, summarizing resident's feelings, expressions, resistance and response to their treatment plan; goals and objectives.
Ability to confront behavioral changes, identifies a crisis, and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.
Ability to recognize personal recovery issues that have an impact on job performance and interactions with residents.
Fully understands and maintains policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and resident confidentiality.
Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of residents and staff.
Ability to prepare for, and facilitate specialty programs and groups

Role Summary/Purpose

- Associate's degree or equivalent of 60 semester or 90 quarter units in psychology, mental health, behavior management, special education, or a field closely related to the knowledge and abilities of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) is also required.
- Equivalency Provision: Certificate in a psychiatric technician or other similar mental health program from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Additional Requirements: May require the ability to lift, move, or restrain K-12 students either with assistance and/or skilled techniques; may require a valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites.

We are hiring full-time Paraprofessionals and Behavioral Interventionists to support students across various grade levels in Glendale, CA. These roles are critical to providing academic and personal assistance to students in classroom settings. Assignments may vary depending on student age and classroom needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and Behavioral Assistance:
Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instructional activities by working with individuals or small groups of students. Help reinforce lessons in core subjects, support classroom routines, and adapt materials to meet student needs. Prepare and organize classroom materials and help maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Data Collection may also be a requirement for some students in the district and will be under the supervision of a BCBA.
Supervision and Safety Monitoring:
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival and dismissal. Help promote a safe and respectful environment while supporting student engagement in both academic and non-academic settings.
Personal Care and Daily Living Support:
Provide support for students who require assistance with toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility. This includes diapering, helping with bathroom use, and assisting students with physical limitations or medical needs in a respectful and professional manner.
General Support and Collaboration:
Perform light clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, and basic data tracking. Participate in meetings, trainings, and team collaboration as needed, and maintain open communication with teachers and staff to support student success.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Must meet one of the following (required):
Possess an Associate's degree or higher
Have completed 48 semester units from an accredited college or university
Pass the California Paraprofessional Exam (ParaPro Assessment)
Must be comfortable assisting students with toileting, diapering and other daily personal care tasks are a requirement to this position
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff in a classroom environment
Strong communication skills, reliability, and a supportive, student-centered approach
Physical ability to assist with lifting, mobility support, or extended periods of standing or moving
Ability to pass a background check and meet district employment requirements

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our team! As a BHT on our the team, you will be handling a patients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction issues in their day to day treatment episode. Your role will be to support and uplift your clients, offering care and support for them, and identifying core issues that could be contributing to their abuse. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse.
Responsibilities
Handle a max load of 6 patients
Assist with medication distribution
Run groups with clients in our care
Uplift and support patients, working with them and their families to help create realistic, lasting change
Continue visual rounds on shifts
Qualifications
Active RADT
Current TB and Physical
Current Drivers License
Strong compassionate outlook, with an upbeat and positive personality
Experience working with substance abuse and Mental Health Clients
