What is the Role of a Registered BehaviorTechnician?
As a Per-Diem Registered BehaviorTechnician/ABA Therapist (RBT), you are using ABA Therapy to transform the lives of children (2 to 9 years of age), who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other development and language delays, while building a fun and creative culture. What Will You Do as a Registered BehaviorTechnician?
Conduct 1:1 therapy with clients
Follow the prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plan
Collect and record data
Write therapy note for each session using an electronic medical records system
Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding the client's progress as instructed by the child's assigned Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materials as instructed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
Maintain client safety and confidentiality
Maintain and acquire functional and technical knowledge by attending required trainings
Become a Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT) and follow the guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
Contribute to a positive working environment
Requirements
Basic & Physical Requirements for a BehaviorTechnician:
Must be able to lift and carry clients who are least 30 pounds
Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures including kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, bending, for extended periods of time
Must be able to walk and run to chase clients and maintain a three-foot distance at all times
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressing
Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection and session documentation
Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication though computer, electronic devices, and paper means
Must be able to take written data and transfer to electronic files or data base systems
Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of working on a computer while sitting at a desk or on the floor
Must be able to assemble, clean and maintain therapy space including toys and furniture
Must be able to administer medication to clients
Experience required:
At least one year of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis
Registered BehaviorTechnician Certification
Preferred: Experience working with children ages 2-12 in a classroom, day care or 1:1 setting, experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational or Allied Health.

Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations.
Participate in ongoing training, evaluations, and meetings, as required by Kids First.
