Qualifications:

‖ Responsibilities Include:
* Delivering comprehensive training and continuous guidance to teachers and educational staff in designing impactful Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
* Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and quality of academic instruction and behavioral support services provided to students, ensuring exceptional outcomes.
* Supporting Spectrum staff by modeling, reinforcing, and enhancing instructional best practices to promote student growth aligned with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
* Implementing evidence-based interventions by applying scientifically proven behavioral and educational strategies, promoting positive outcomes in academic, social, emotional, and independent functioning.
* Providing crisis management intervention and support for students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behavior and developing strategies to reduce the need for 1:1 staffing.
* Collaborating closely with on-site education teams to collect and analyze data on student behavior, monitor student progress, and ensure appropriate intervention responsiveness and consistent progress toward goals.
* Conducting regular quality checks for each campus within assigned region at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels; making recommendations for improvement based on analysis of data.
* Supporting the development of on-site teams within assigned the area through delivery of training on behavioral assessment, intervention, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis management, and other relevant topics.
* Providing guidance and supervision to staff members within assigned region pursuing BACB certification (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA), as agreed with the Program Director or VP of Behavior Services.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans for assigned campuses to enhance student performance and staff effectiveness.
* Engaging in multi-disciplinary on-site and regional team meetings to discuss behavioral needs and contribute to the development of comprehensive support strategies.
* Monitoring and ensuring adherence of all campuses to Department of Education regulations and internal standards for educational and behavioral service is maintained within assigned area.
* Maintaining accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, progress, and compliance activities.
* Providing operational support to all schools in the assigned area, focusing on academic achievement, behavioral support, staff retention, and development.
* Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned to support organizational goals and student success.
‖ Qualifications Required:
* Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy, special education or a closely related field of study.
* Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.
* Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education specialist or special education instruction credential preferred.
* Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver's license.
* Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
* Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), data-based decision making, and functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP).
* Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management, personalized instruction and working with students.
* Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
* Prior experience and highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention procedures.
* Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
* Proven success in developing and implementing effective intervention plans for students with diverse needs.
* Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Behavior Technicians implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs with CARD patients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans are designed to address skill acquisition as well as challenging behavior reduction and may occur in a variety of settings including the CARD center, patient's home, school, community, or via telehealth. Behavior Technicians report to the CARD Operations Manager. This position has no direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct treatment to patients under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor in a 1:1 or group environment
Provide treatment that exceeds CARD's clinical quality standards
Collect and record data on patient progress with high fidelity
Review and implement Clinical Supervisor feedback during each treatment session
Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues
Seek personal growth and training opportunities to ensure clinical excellence
Maintain accurate and timely records
Always maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements
Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must pass initial CARD Behavior Technician Training program, including passing a comprehensive written exam and field evaluation
Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Treatment may occur in a variety of settings including the patient's home, the CARD center, the patient's school, the community, or via telehealth. Behavior Technicians work in environments that are both indoors and outdoors and may move between different locations throughout the course of the workday.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to work with patients who are seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other home, school, community and clinic environments
Move frequently throughout the therapeutic setting to gather materials, anticipate, and respond to the movement of a patient, and/or provide instruction in a variety of settings, such as school, playground, clinic, or community locations
Constantly position oneself to participate and respond to the movements and behaviors of patients, including but not limited to bending to assist a patient, kneeling/crouching to teach a play skill, hurrying to block an open doorway, or reaching to prevent a patient from entering a traffic congested street
Be able to utilize continuous visual tracking to monitor the movement of patients, as well as the items and circumstances in the surrounding environment
Occasionally move to evade aggressive behaviors and/or physically block attempts to aggress towards others. Responding to behaviors may occasionally require bearing weight of a patient who is leaning, pushing, etc.
Frequently teach patients to use vocal speech. Must be able to articulate sound and model speaking clearly, as well as listen to and shape vocal communication of patients
Occasionally use modeling to teach gross motor skills, such as climbing or jumping, and fine motor skills such as clapping or opening a container
Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patient's natural environment, which may include being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., community skills, recess in a school setting, etc.)

which may be extended or become permanent. Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II/III, Correctional Facility, Unit Supervisor (Safety), or Senior Psychiatric Technician (Safety), the Psychiatric Technician (PT) (Safety) organizes and provides a basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies and procedures, and regulations in a variety of correctional health care settings. The PT (Safety), pursuant to the PT scope of practice and in collaboration with the health care team, ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients. The PT (Safety) provides basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), provides support to the care team for daily health care operations, and communicates effectively with patients and other members of the health care team. The PT (Safety) is responsible for addressing the ongoing needs of patients, working with the members of the larger health care team, and promoting the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.

Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE. Role Responsibilities (Here's what it takes)
Provide 1:1 care directly with Clients during scheduled sessions under the supervision of a Board- Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Implement established behavioral treatment plans based on the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA) across skill levels, moderate to severe problem behaviors, and service delivery settings.

What Youll Do (School-Based Role)
As a school-based BT/RBT, you will:
Provide 1:1 or small-group behavioral and academic support to students throughout the school day
Implement ABA-based strategies in classrooms, on the playground, and across campus
Support goals related to communication, social skills, academics, and behavior regulation
Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA and the school team
Collect clear, simple data on student progress and behavior
Collaborate with teachers, aides, and BCBAs to maintain consistency and alignment
Model calm, professional behavior during both routine and challenging moments
Help foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for students
This is an active, on-your-feet position that involves moving with students across different school settings.

This position is school-based with consistent daytime hours:
Approximately 30+ hours per week

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
Follows the general school calendar, with potential adjusted opportunities during school breaks for center-based training or other activities
Because this role is tied directly to school schedules and student needs, open availability from 8:003:00 PM, MondayFriday, is required.
RBT Preferred
We welcome candidates with a range of experience levels, but for this role:
RBT certification is preferred
If you are not yet an RBT, we are especially interested in applicants who are motivated to pursue their RBT with support and training from our team

About the Role:
As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them develop essential social, behavioral, and daily living skills. Using a playful and positive approach, you will implement evidence-based treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support each child's growth and success in the classroom and community.
Behavior Technicians play a vital role in shaping our clients' lives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Working one-on-one with clients to collect data on skill acquisition and behavioral progress, all recorded digitally on iPads.
Reducing behavioral excesses by following structured treatment plans.
Regularly communicating with supervisors and team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
During downtime, you will also be responsible for preforming janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, disinfecting toys and surfaces, dishwashing, trash disposal, stocking restrooms and kitchens, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework in ABA, psychology, child development, or related fields is a plus.

Availability: A minimum of 16 hours per week, available in four-hour blocks, within our operating hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM).

Health Requirements: Candidates must be able to provide the required health clearances and immunization documentation in accordance with California guidelines. This includes proof of TB test clearance (within the last 18 months) as well as verification of required vaccinations such as MMR and Varicella. The full-time Behavioral Healthcare Technician (BHT) I provides direct care and supportive services to patients in a behavioral health setting, ensuring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. Working under the supervision of clinical leadership, the BHT I assists with activities of daily living, monitors patient well-being, supports treatment planning, administers medications, and contributes to interdisciplinary care. The BHT plays a vital role in maintaining a culture of care and fostering positive behavioral and emotional outcomes for patients receiving treatment.

Setting: Teen Mental Health, Residential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Patient Care & Support
Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Provides personal care assistance to patients as needed
Observes and influences patients' behavior positively.
Support the clinical team through crisis intervention, case management, and coordination of patient treatment plans throughout treatment.
Collaborate with and assist doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists working with patients to treat, rehabilitate, and return patients to the community.
2. Medication Support & Health Monitoring
Administer medications and treatments following the physician's prescriptions.
Issue medications from the dispensary and maintain records in accordance with TPEG procedures.
Reports symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients to the Nurse Practitioner and/or Facility manager, and appropriate action has been taken.
Take and record measures of the patient's physical condition, using devices such as thermometers and blood pressure gauges.
Monitor the patient's physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to staff.
Documents nursing observations.
3. Nutrition & Meal Preparation
Inventories food, labels and dates opened food items, labels food with expiration dates, organizes pantry and fridge, prepares grocery order, takes water and fridge/freezer temps.
Ensures that patients receive appropriate nutrition, including shopping for groceries, preparing meals.
4. Documentation & Communication
Assist in maintaining patient records by reviewing case notes and documenting progress.
Communicate patient progress by participating in interdisciplinary meetings and daily briefings.
5. Professional Development & Improvement
Initiates change to improve patient care; discusses changes with the doctor when appropriate.
Utilizes educational opportunities within the facility and other avenues to maintain clinical expertise to promote personal growth and development.
6. Supervision
Assumes responsibility and accountability, including supervision of patients in the house.
7. Environment & Safety
Ensures the safety of patients by consistently completing safety checks.
Maintains a clean and sanitized environment, cleaning up spills, setting up equipment, and reducing the spread of germs and infection in the patient's living area.

Role Responsibilities (Here's what it takes)
Provide 1:1 care directly with Clients during scheduled sessions under the supervision of a Board- Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Implement established behavioral treatment plans based on the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA) across skill levels, moderate to severe problem behaviors, and service delivery settings.
Ensure that 100% of the scheduled direct services are provided without any scheduling interruptions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, interventions, and outcomes.
Collect data related to Client's progress during treatment sessions.
Incorporate activities and games that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for the client in alignment with the treatment plan.
Promote Client engagement to build their strengths in a natural and enjoyable manner.
Consulting with case Supervisor on treatment plans, Client updates, and intervention strategies.
Receiving and utilizing ongoing training, guidance, and support.
Follow program procedures, administrative tasks, direct therapy skills, and other duties that are in line with our compliance requirements.
Maintaining reliable communication to record scheduled appointments and return phone calls within 24 hours.
