Position Summary The SpEd Ed Tech III position will be working on a Special Education Team, in a self-contained program, named Rising Tide. Rising Tide is a therapeutic day treatment program with students in grades 9-12 who have been identified with academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs. This position may also work with individual or small groups of special education students to provide curriculum support, including the introduction of new learning that is pre-planned in collaboration with the supervising teacher or appropriate content specialist. Rising Tide focuses on relationships, resilience and empowerment in the school, outdoors, and community settings. Key Responsibilities Provide academic and behavioral support to students in grades 9-12 with identified special education needs, including those related to executive functioning, social emotional, and behavior. Assist in the delivery of instruction within a self-contained program setting. Collaborate with supervising teachers and content specialists to implement pre-planned lessons and instructional activities. Provide immediate support and guidance to students experiencing a behavioral crisis. Aid in maintaining accurate records of data, interventions, and student progress. Promote positive social interactions. Qualifications/Skills Understanding of behavioral interventions, trauma informed teaching, and special education practices.
