What you will Do:
Provide individual, group, post discharge follow up behavioral health therapy that includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, individualized treatment plans using SMART goals, timely clinical documentation (e.g., SOAP notes), and tracking progress of each goal to completion.
Directly or in collaboration with other staff members, provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for members presenting in a crisis situation (via telephone or in person), including suicidality, disruptive and/or threatening behaviors, and disposition as clinically appropriate.
Serve as the clinical behavioral health SME within the interdisciplinary care team (ICT) by providing recommendations, referrals, and follow up for behavioral health aspects of member care.
Provide and advocate for clinical care using evidence-based approaches including trauma informed care, harm-reduction, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapies, etc.; may include providing short-term solutions-based therapy or emotional management (e.g., anger management)

Requirements:
Must be clinically licensed in the state of practice with 3+ years of experience in behavioral health (e.g., social work, mental health, or addiction).
Acceptable licenses include: LCSW-C, LPC, LPCC, LCPC, LMHC
At least 2 years of experience in settings like community mental health centers, FQHCs, or inpatient psychiatric facilities working with clients who have complex behavioral health needs.
Current CPR certification required.
Comfortable providing both group and one-on-one therapy.
Preferred: Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, or other government-sponsored populations.

Under direct supervision by the Medical Director, assists with coordinating the operation of Women's Mental Health and Reproductive Psychiatry (WMHRP) clinical programs. Ensures the provision of and access to comprehensive, integrated, and uninterrupted mental health care to all patients. Additionally, provides evidence-based treatment, reflecting commitment to the values and ethics of the profession, for a variety of mental health conditions prevalent in this patient population which include but are not limited to infertility, perinatal loss, birth trauma, perinatal and postpartum support for mood and trauma-related disorders; and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates patient referrals by coordinating multiple referral sources (telephone, electronic medical record, etc.) across multiple locations within the UMMS system (UMMC downtown and Midtown locations only).
Works closely with Medical Director and other site Clinical Directors to ensure appropriate referral of patients within the WMHRP program.
Maintains referral database to track patients connected to care and lost to follow-up and using database to analyze barriers to care; monitors referral flow, time to next appointment, and management of calls.
Implements and monitors quality assurance indicators, which may include timeliness of first appointment, case management assessment procedures, timeliness of diagnostic evaluations, and completeness of assessment procedures.
Assists Medical Director with disseminating information at staff meetings, interpreting policies, reporting on progress of the programs, and providing continuity among staff members between all program locations.
Assists Medical Director with monitoring the environment of care across multiple sites and addressing any issues that occur for the WMHRP program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The BHT Supervisor continues to fulfill the primary role of a Behavioral Health Technician by ensuring that day to day operations run smoothly at whichever location they are working and that all necessary documentation and communication is completed.
The BHT Supervisor will create the weekly schedule for all Behavioral Health Technicians at their prospective program (level of care) each week. The BHT Supervisor will ensure that all shifts and duties are covered while minimizing overtime and distributing hours and shifts among the Behavioral Health Technicians appropriately.
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for assisting with interviewing and hiring new Behavioral Health Technicians once applicants have passed through the initial recruiting and screening process with HR.
The BHT Supervisor is required to employ a systematic approach to time management so that their time is spent equally between each house in their prospective program (level of care), while maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt to real time demands during a shift.
The BHT Supervisor will facilitate (or co-facilitate) the Behavioral Health Technician manual training 1x each week, in each house, in their prospective program (level of care).
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for serving as the liaison between the Director of ERES Operations and the other Behavioral Health Technicians for all shift callouts and scheduling issues.

The BHT Supervisor is responsible for serving as the liaison between the ELC Admissions department and their prospective program (level of care) for anything that assistance may need assistance with including but not limited to coordination of transfer clients, property, or medication issues.
The BHT Supervisor serves as the liaison between their prospective program (level of care) and the finance team (accounts payable) for communication regarding any supply ordering for the residential program.
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for the ordering of all house supplies, monitoring the prudent reserve of supplies, and making sure supplies are only purchased when necessary based on inventory and standard rates of use.
The BHT Supervisor that oversees a residential level of care that includes the provision of food to clients is responsible for completing the weekly food order within the set budget and maintaining inventory of any food supplies leftover from the previous week.
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for providing general day to day insight and direction to the other Behavioral Health Technicians, and when necessary suggesting consultation with the Director of ERES Operations.

The BHT Supervisor is responsible for conducting and/or overseeing the completion of “Health and Safety Drills'' each month. This process includes documenting and submitting Quality Assurance (QA) data from the other ERES counselors and houses in their prospective programs (level of care) each month and reviewing that data with the QA team. putting it in the QA folders.
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for identifying ongoing training needs and areas in need of improvement regarding operations at the ERES programs and working closely with the ERES Director of Operations to develop and implement training programs that support the development of Behavioral Health Technician team members.
The BHT Supervisor is responsible for participating in a monthly team meeting with the ERES management team including the other Leads, Supervisors, and ERES Directors.

Providies direct and indirect services to the person supported and their team.
Provides a written progress report monthly to the individual and to team members by the end of the following month.
Completes debriefing of significant incidents with the team within 48-72 hours of the incident.
Assists in implementing the plan via coaching, modeling and teaching the individual and team.
Attends psychiatric or medical appointments as appropriate and assists in gathering and presenting information to the psychiatrist or medical provider to support the individual. Assists the team in finding information regarding medications and side effects as appropriate.
Makes recommendations for additional services that are not within the scope of the Communication Specialist such as a Speech and Language Pathologist or Speech Therapist. Coordinates with other involved medical professionals to support the individual and the team.
Helps to establish, modify, and maintain environments that best support communication.
Identifies resources and potential communication tools or collaborating with a licensed speech and language specialist to gain assistance with communication tools.
Participates in the development of the person's ISP and outcomes in cooperation with the team.
Helps to identify barriers to communication and advocating for a person's communication needs.
Supports the protection of all people we support from abuse and neglect.
Reports any potential concerns or incidents through the chain of command.
Supports an environment that promotes health and safety by monitoring medical, behavioral and community safety concerns of the individual.
Encourages the people we support to exercise their rights and personal decision making while setting aside personal bias.
Ensures documentation is clear concise, objective and up to date.
Maintains files, records and complies with confidentiality of all records/information as per HIPAA regulations.
Maintains a schedule in Outlook and shares this schedule with BSS Clinical Supervisors and BSS Director.
Participates in a minimum of twelve (12) hours of annual training on best practice in supporting people with challenging behaviors.
Attends outside trainings to gain more knowledge about supporting individuals effectively.
Complies with company policies and ODP regulations.
Complies with daily service notes for all services rendered daily and submits documentation the same day.
Monitors units of service per the individual's ISP and reports discrepancies and/or concerns to the director.
Has an understanding of the department budget and maintains fiscal responsibility.
Attends department meetings as required and responds timely to communications.
Maintains caseload for after hour calls and situations or finds appropriate coverage for after hour calls and situations when not available.
When communication responsibilities are minimal, the employee will manage a BSS caseload aligned with the needs of the BSS department.
