Qualifications
Your Qualifications and Requirements will include:
Valid Utah CSW or LCSW license or other clinical license authorized to practice in Utah REQUIRED.
Preferred (1) year of experience working in a psych inpatient setting and detox preferred, but NOT REQUIRED

Requirements
A BehaviorTechnician provides one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families under the close supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
RBTs may work with clients in-home, in-school, in-center, and in the community.
Each Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT) will continue to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the Behavior Support Plan in achieving identified goals and objectives by collecting data and writing progress notes.
Effective communication with supervisors and parents is essential to the RBT's success and must be present at all times.
RBTs will complete a BACB-approved RBT course and keep registration current.
Other responsibilities include the following:

· Pairing and building rapport with clients, families, stakeholders and their Team members.

Staff management
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations and disciplinary processes of Behavioral Health Technicians.

Support staff development by facilitating training on a variety of topics that could enhance the work staff do with clients as well as training and support for trauma informed practices, secondary trauma for service providers, self- care etc.

Maintain weekend staff schedule, meet with staff monthly to provide support and feedback for on-going development and thoroughly document meetings.
Support the volunteer coordinator and help manage volunteer activities that include front desk staff and clients.
Monitor and ensure required staff coverage for program efficiency, licensure compliance, client, staff and facility safety.
Licensing, agency, and contract compliance
Utilize appropriate licensing, agency, and contract requirements to guide daily program operations and program development.

JOB SUMMARY
The Behavior Skills Technician (BST) is a position that intervenes directly and supports students with severe behavior challenges. The position collects, manages, and interprets data on student behavior, drafts behavior intervention plans, including environmental engineering, and trains school-based paraprofessionals to replicate duties when students move to a less restrictive setting. The BST will work under the direction of the Director of Special Education and in collaboration with special education teacher(s), Behavioral Consultant(s), and Special Education Behavior Specialists.
BSTs are required to attend professional development and demonstrate competence in the application of learned technical skills (e.g., applied behavior analysis, behavior management, etc.), participate in ongoing embedded training experiences including examining teaching the core curriculum while making professional decisions, and integrate online learning modules in behavior management. Regular a
ttendance and physical presence are required;
BSTs may work an adaptable schedule based on the student's needs and may be required to ride the school bus to and from school with the student(s). The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:
High school diploma or recognized equivalent

Valid driver's license, evidence of insurance, and access to reliable transportation to travel to various school locations
Speak, read, write, analyze, understand, and follow written and verbal communication in English, including grammar and punctuation; listen to, and understand information and ideas presented verbally and in writing

Experience in a K-12 special education or public employment environment
Completed Safety Care training
Knowledge of the Least Restrictive Behavioral Intervention (LRBI) process
Experience working with and implementing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students
Spanish or other language proficiency, including ability to read, write, speak, and understand
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver direct instruction to students in the special education and general education settings
Drive from site to site as directed by supervisor
Utilize knowledge of students, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and concepts for Special Education learning to implement learning and behavior plans that meet students' social and behavioral interventions and ensure compliance with IEPs
Implement behavior strategies and provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students with challenging behaviors (i.e., physical aggression, self-harm, elopement, destruction of property, and other dangerous behavior)
Implement and monitor academic and behavior interventions as directed by the director, specialist, and administrator for application in all educational settings
Participate in regular professional development and embedded training, including yearly Safety Care training
Collect data on behavioral and academic targets(s), and under the direction of the special education director, specialist, and teacher, document your duties with students to support Medicaid funding
Provide emergency support to students in crisis while remaining calm and collected
Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) to maintain the personal safety of students and adhere to district policies, procedures, and state law
Keep current and up to date on Registered BehaviorTechnician (RBT) credential and district-directed training requirements
Participate in regularly scheduled training sessions held by Special Education Behavior Specialists
Learn, describe, and apply a variety of learned behavior support and management techniques based on applied behavior analysts (i.e., proactive behavior and de-escalation strategies) and behavior management
Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions; work as part of a team by collaborating with own and other work units

The Purpose of Your Role
The Behavioral Health Technician focuses on learning, creating a positive culture, and productively engaging with the team. They support and ensure clients function safely, effectively, and efficiently while promoting the best quality and output standards. The Behavioral Health Technician collaborates with their team and Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor to ensure the maintenance or treatment fidelity, company policy, procedures, and client satisfaction is met to standards.

Demonstrate proper techniques for de-escalation, crisis intervention and behavior management
Demonstrate understanding of the guidelines, and responsibilities of a controlled use key holder, and be able properly manage the red cart items on and off the floor
Demonstrate understanding of how to use kindles when facilitating a group, and how to properly manage the inventory of kindles on and off the floor

Demonstrate how we provide telehealth through Google Meet, when it is appropriate for a client to use telehealth, and how to properly run exposures through telehealth
Demonstrate understanding when to access a client's general note and when to appropriately write in a client's general note
Demonstrate ability to promptly notify the therapist of any behavioral, safety, or attendance issues
Demonstrate how and when to use a coping script to support clients with exposures
Demonstrate the appropriate time to run exposures in the community and the process the client must follow
Demonstrate how to access, administer and encourage clients to take the weekly survey
Demonstrate ability to store, audit, and dispose of food exposure items properly

A BehaviorTechnician provides one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families under the close supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).

Make notes of any special requirements and needs that guests may have (Special diets, ADA accommodations, etc.) Coordinate with management to facilitate those needs.
Update maintenance log with resident requests and get maintenance log to maintenance staff.
Actively listen to the needs of the residents and act to meet those needs reasonably and appropriately.
Reconcile and report any monetary funds, petty cash and other expenditures daily.
Report any resident concerns to the Director/Manager and/or appropriate department leadership team.
Demonstrate a passion for customer service as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, and members of the community.
Laundry (Bedding when soiled or when guests check out.)
Simple cleaning (Public bathroom, sweeping, mopping, etc)
Monitor Cameras and log activity
Complete perimeter checks around building and walk-throughs in building to ensure safety and security of residents. Log or document any concerns.
Handle security issues/complaints by calling either non-emergency dispatch or 911 for emergency services.
May be required to lift up to 50lbs periodically as needed.
