Assists with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all assigned patients' care in collaboration with a licensed nurse. General Responsibilities: Assisting the Charge Nurse in performing clerical duties on unit. Promote good communication between team members. Monitor detoxing and/or mentally unstable patients.

1. Assists with admission, transfer and discharge of patients. Answers call system promptly. 2. Takes and records patients' temperature, pulse, respiration's, blood pressure, intake and output, and weight according to hospital procedure. Performs glucometer testing and bladder scans as requested. 3. Assist in giving and teaching bed baths, shower, tub and partial baths. Gives therapeutic baths such as sitz, foot and temperature sponge bath. Assist in giving and teaching oral hygiene, hair care, nails care, and gives special skin care (includes back rubs). 4. Makes open, closed and occupied beds. 5. Does perineal care. Performs foley catheter care as directed by a nurse. May discontinue foley catheters upon the direct order of a nurse after successful completion of competency. Passes and empties bedpan; collects urine and stool specimens. 6. Passes and collects meal trays as needed; passes and assists patients in obtaining nourishment between meals. Assists and teaches patients with meals. Refills patient's water pitcher. 7. Applies K-pad, ice pack. 8. Assists patients walking, crutch walking, with walker and transports patients to various hospital departments by wheelchair or stretcher. Assists patients up to chair. 9. Assembles patients' chart for newly admitted unit patients and maintains current charts by filing physician orders and test results. 13. Disassembles and routes patient charts to appropriate department upon discharge, transfer, expiration or as requested. 14. About GateHouse GateHouse is a nationally recognized group of drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers, with facilities in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Nashville, Tennessee. The GateHouse group offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient treatment methods, including sober living facilities. Your Position As a Part-Time or Full-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will observe the behavior of clients, monitor clients throughout non-clinical hours, and report to the clinical staff and management. You will also participate in the day-to-day operations of the facility. The main priority of a BHT is to make sure that clients remain safe at all time. BHTs typically wear scrubs during work hours. BHTs must be open to working 12-hour shifts. What You Will be Doing • Observe and report client issues outside of clinical hours. • Apply collaborative problem-solving approach with daily and routine interaction with patients. • Assist patients with activities of daily living, personal care, & comfort measures. • Assist with certain test/procedures under the supervision of a medical professional. • Interact with patients in a therapeutic manner to improve social skills aligned with their treatment goals. Your Qualifications • High school Diploma required • Must possess a valid driver's license • Knowledge of the behavioral health treatment industry is a plus Lines of Communication The Behavioral Health Tech staff will report directly to the Clinical Support Supervisor or Program Director.
