Conduct patient check of belongings upon admission. Supervise urine collection of patients. Conduct crisis intervention with the supervision of Director of Nursing/ADON or Charge Nurse. Escort patients to appointments as indicated by supervisor. Accompanies patients on outings and to nightly meetings and may require driving facility vehicles. Conduct educational lectures for patients and families, at admission, during facility stay and after discharge, as indicated. Documents in chart any contact with patients in accordance with department and facility procedure using a computer keyboard. Serves as a liaison between clinical staff and patients, keeping staff informed of high-risk issues or potential patient problems. Regularly communicates with other team members and interface in a positive constructive and helpful manner to promote cohesiveness, reduce conflict and provide for resolution. Monitors and identifies potential problems and discusses them in the daily multidisciplinary treatment meeting. Participates in meetings and treatment teams as required. Assists with Crisis Intervention as directed by Director of Nursing or Charge Nurse. Able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of the patients. Monitors mealtimes and bathroom breaks (ED Unit only) Follow through with special assignments and responsibilities as requested by Director of Nursing/Program Director.
