Qualifications:
* Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of applied behavior analysis and appropriate interventions for students on the Autism Spectrum or with severe behavioral needs.
* Experience: Prior experience working with children, preferred.
* Certification: Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification preferred, working toward RBT certification required.

Essential Functions:
* Actively support and participate in the district and community's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity goals.
* Provide direct student instruction and assist staff with implementation in one-on-one and group settings. Follow prescribed behavior skills acquisition and behavior change protocols. Assist with preparing materials as necessary.
* Prepare, collect, analyze data on observable student behavior.
* Use data to assist with implementation of skill acquisition and behavioral assessments.
* Document interventions, progress data, and observation notes.
* Keeps records in a timely and accurate manner including, but not limited to, Medicaid, session notes, student attendance, and communication logs.
* Participate in training of staff as necessary.
* Demonstrates reliability (attendance, punctuality, meeting deadlines).
* Demonstrates skill and proficiency in carrying out assignments.
* Implement crises/emergency procedures according to protocol.
* Report to District Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) regarding student progress and to gain training and understanding of behavior support protocols.
* Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA. Collaborate with school teams and collaborate and contribute to IEPs and meetings as necessary.
* Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
* Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
* Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
* Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student during lunch, transitioning to and from the bus, during recess, in the hallways, and other related non-instructional areas as assigned.
* Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
* Support all schoolwide and classroom instructional and behavioral supports.
* Bill Medicaid for Medicaid eligible students and services provided by the BCBA or RBT following all state and federal guidelines.
* Travel may be required between buildings within the district.
* Participate in professional development, as assigned.
* Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities and Duties
Complete initial training process, testing, and obtaining a RBT certification
Complete daily acquisition skills, maintenance, and mastered skills as directed by BCBA
Collect accurate data on a daily basis
Complete daily session notes from billable services
Follow behavior plan, individualized treatment plan, and reinforcement schedule as written
Implement appropriate teaching strategies, social skills, and behavior modification approaches
Maintain cleanliness of center
Adhere to policies and procedures provided by the EMAS Policy Manual
Provide a safe and engaged environment for clients
Independent problem solving to improve efficiency and self-growth
Maintaining appropriate, professional, and positive demeanor while on the floor
Creating and maintaining an environment that promotes staff fulfillment, maximizes productivity, and encourages a constructive and profound work culture
Attend monthly staff trainings and participation in quarterly trainings

Circle City Schools is seeking professionals to support Scholars in growing their socio-emotional, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy skills through one-on-one and small group interventions. Our Behavior Interventionist will work closely with our Student Supports team to help scholars be successful at school by building positive relationships with their peers, expressing their needs appropriately and ultimately spending more time in class, on-task.
Background on the Organization:
Circle City Schools is a small network of schools in Indianapolis, Indiana composed of ACE Prep (K-6) and Circle City Prep (K-8). Both campuses are committed to high expectations paired with high levels of support. We hold a deep belief that all scholars have immense potential and unique strengths. ACE Prep, serving grades K-6 in the Greater Broad Ripple area, was founded in 2016 and boasts a 90%+ IREAD pass rate in SY24 and SY25. While focused on academic rigor, ACE totes a small school environment where each child is seen and cared for. Circle City Prep, serving K-8 scholars on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis, was founded in 2017 and serves 90%+ low-income and 30%+ multilingual learners. For the last four years, Circle City Prep has been the highest performing public school in its community and focuses on a well rounded school experience.
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Behavior Interventionist is to:
* Provide skills training and development to scholars and families by engaging providing 1:1 and small group age appropriate interventions and skill development.
* Provide crisis intervention/emergency services as needed for scholars by assessing risk, developing safety plans, and using de-escalation techniques.
* Collaborate with school staff, including classroom teachers, to support student socio-emotional growth and on-task time in the classroom.
* Engage families and caregivers in understanding and supporting the education of their children and the ways in which academic outcomes are enhanced by serving the social / emotional and personal development needs of the child.
* Collect data on established interventions of the model and the delivery of services.
* Document and track interventions in a manner that allows the student support team to strategically prioritize times and interventions.
* Operate with entrepreneurial spirit and build systems and structures that allow services to be provided systematically with fidelity across the full school.
Additional duties:
* Lead a safe, joyful lunch recess
* Provide coverage in classrooms as needed (part or full days)
* Participate in annual two-week Summer Experience (all staff) and three-days of New Hire Onboarding (new staff only).
* Attend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (ex. family nights, student performances, field trips, family conferences, Back-to-School Nights, etc.).
* Commit to teach an extended daily schedule: 7:10am - 4:15pm
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To be considered as a Behavior Interventionist, you must:
* Experience and/or knowledge of elementary education, preferred
* Evidence of culturally competent practices
* Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff, a diverse student body and families, as well as a team of professionals
* Communication skills via a second language, especially Spanish and/or Haitian Creole, preferred
* Bachelor's degree, required.
* Background check passed, required.
* Willingness to work occasional weekend and evening work hours required
