Responsibilities
The Behavior Analyst develops and monitors individual behavior treatment programs for the clinic, residential and extended care patients. Work is full time during the weekdays and may require some on-call work. Work is performed primarily at the clinic, the residential site, and minimal time in the community.
Develops and monitors individual behavior programs and data systems.
Reports all such programs and/or changes to the Director of Behavior Programming, Director of Rehabilitation, Clinical Case Managers, and/or Behavior Program Coordinator.
Consults with clinical and residential staff to receive input on the implementation and effectiveness of each program.
Reviews behavior programs as required with clinical therapists and other relevant staff. Requires verbal ability to effectively express ideas and programs when speaking to patients, patients' families, and personnel.
Reviews behavior data, module results and generates appropriate statistics. Requires ability to analyze data and calculate totals using calculator and/or computer.
Distributes programs and program changes to appropriate personnel. Monitors behavior database to include new, updated information and discontinue irrelevant information. May require visual ability and fine motor manipulation to manage computer input.
Provides discharge recommendations related to behavior. Provide training as needed to transition behavior programs to the home environment.
Performs reporting procedures.
Conducts clinic behavior staffing's, training and programming as required. Makes rounds of clinic therapies, trains staff and reviews program implementation. Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, and participation in program implementation activities such as physical exercises and cognitive skill exercises. Must have the ability to coordinate, participate in, lead, and teach such programs.
Experience and Education
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Behavior Analysis or related field of expertise. Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Behavior Analyst preferred or eligibility for certification.
Work Experience: Working knowledge of rehabilitative care required. Prior direct care experience working with the brain injury population of persons served is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision to Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs) working with clients.
Develop a child-specific behavior plan in accordance with the principles of ABA.
Train each staff member on their client's specific behavior treatment plan.
Continuously conduct weekly reviews of data to ensure that treatment is effective.
Modify any programs that are not making progress or that the client has mastered.
Conduct assessments not limited to the VB-MAPP, ABLLS, or AFLS upon intake and every 6 months, thereafter.
Track all authorizations dates for clients and update all treatment plans before authorizations expire.
Monitor and adjust behavior plans throughout the treatment period in accordance with the child's progression.
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as needed.
Participate in bi-weekly BCBA group meetings and monthly 1:1 meetings with the Clinical Integrity Officer (CIO) to discuss client progress or concerns.
Provide regular parent/caretaker training
Maintain knowledge of different programs and certifications through CEU events.
Assist with scheduling
Provide direct coverage as needed
Be present in the center during business hours
Assist with any clinical needs as they arise
Support kiddos and RBTs with a minimum of 28 impact weekly hours
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise RBTs who are working towards their BCBA certification
Conduct weekly competencies for newly hired RBTs and monthly competencies for RBTs who have been with the company longer than 1 month.
Review RBTs session notes for accuracy and provide detailed feedback to RBTs.
Provide initial corrective feedback to RBTs, when needed, as part of progressive disciplinary action procedures.
Proactively manage and develop RBT staff

Education and Experience
BACB Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required
A Master's degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices
Possess extensive knowledge and training in behavior analysis.

Job Duties:
Behavior Technicians report directly to the Clinical Director and are required to carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates Thrive's mission and core values in a positive manner. These Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with clients one-on-one under the supervision of a BCBA, implementing therapeutic programs as prescribed for each client, using ABA strategies and techniques as written, discussed and/or demonstrated by BCBA.
Continuously monitor the client throughout the session and intervene as needed and directed to ensure the clients safety and wellbeing when in the clinical environment.
Administer behavioral interventions, and/or implement programs and/or protocols throughout the clients session as directed for clients who may have significant communication deficits (non-verbal or unable to express themselves), medical needs, and/or maladaptive behaviors which may pose a serious safety risk to the client and/or others including but not limited to physical aggression to others, self-injurious behavior, elopement, PICA.
Build and maintain rapport with their clients by pairing themselves with reinforcement.
Engage with the client throughout the duration of the clients session, continuously interacting with client through therapeutic interventions and/or protocols, modeling verbal behavior, expanding of reinforcers, and building and maintaining rapport. BT should continuously engage with clients regardless of scheduled activities, and set up learning opportunities though out daily activities, including but not limited to mealtimes, physical activity opportunities on play-sets, trampolines, etc.
Respect client dignity through appropriate language and actions (both in and out of the clients presence), taking responsibility for the direction and tone of the sessions (avoiding blaming the client) and treating the clients family with respect.
Demonstrate at all times ABA therapeutic competency and ability to implement written and verbal instructions and respond appropriately to feedback. This may be demonstrated through the following:
Application of ABA techniques, strategies, and client programs during supervision sessions with a BCBA.
Pass any competency assessments as required by supervisor.
Appropriately accept and immediately implement feedback from supervisors on a continual basis.
Accurately and efficiently collect data throughout sessions using Central Reach clinical management software.
Maintain current understanding of all relevant client programs and protocols.
Demonstrate therapeutic skills as instructed via modeling, verbal and/or written communication consistently with clients.
Assist clients with physical needs and personal care, including lifting, positioning, feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
Appropriately and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, supervisors and client families as needed.
Implement all safety protocols and procedures as indicated by Thrive Behavior Centers staff.
Uphold ethical standards and all Thrive Behavior Centers' policies and procedures, including but not limited to the BACB ethics code, client confidentiality requirements, and mandated reporting standards.
Independently track supervision requirements and other documentation and actions needed to maintain RBT certification.
Work in a fast-paced, potentially stressful environment while remaining patient and calm with a positive attitude toward coworkers and clients.
Create complete and accurate session notes for each therapy session.
Create daily notes for parents regarding therapeutic activities and personal care information regarding the clients session.
Engage in tasks assigned by supervisor such as creating materials, engaging in tasks that help keep the center clean and organized, training other technicians, and/or assisting technicians or supervisors with client care.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be a high school graduate or have earned a GED. Bachelors degrees are preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Required to obtain RBT certification within the first 60 days of employment
Required to maintain RBT certification throughout employment. (Failure to maintain RBT certification could result in termination.)
Required to alert your supervisor in writing six weeks prior to certification expiration.
Required to uphold the ethical and supervision standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Required to have and maintain a current CPR/AED or BLS certification which must be accredited by the American Heart Association and include an in-person skill demonstration. Any other forms of CPR certification do not meet this requirement.

Behavior Technicians (BT's) at LPRC are responsible for delivering high-quality, ethical ABA services under the supervision of a BCBA. The following expectations apply to all BT's to ensure effective therapy, professionalism, and client safety.
Clinical and Ethical Responsibilities:
Implement ABA services as outlined in the client's BCBA-developed treatment plan.
Adhere to all BACB ethical guidelines and LPRC policies.
Accurately collect and record data and session notes for each billed session within 48 hours, ensuring notes are objective and truthful.
Use only evidence-based, non-aversive strategies focusing on assent; avoid unauthorized use of punishment, coercive language, and threatening tone of voice.
Maintain client dignity and respect at all times and avoid discussing challenging behaviors in their presence.
Attend all required training and supervision sessions
Deliver services with consistent focus and minimize distractions or off-topic conversations during sessions.
Billing and Documentation
Bill only for approved, direct ABA services as guided by funding sources and supervising BCBA's.
Convert any non-billable appointments in a timely manner.
Ensure parent/guardian signatures are collected on session notes and take-home logs are completed professionally using caregiver-friendly language.
Session notes must be completed within 48 hours of a scheduled billable session.
Health, Safety, and Hygiene
Sanitize and clean all surfaces and materials between client use.
Conduct diaper checks every 30-45 minutes for clients in diapers; clean and change as needed, sanitizing surfaces after each change.
Wear gloves when handling food or assisting with hygiene tasks.
Ensure all client belongings are labeled with first name and last initial.
Place all dirty diapers, used gloves, and feminine products in diaper pails.
Keeps bathroom doors partially opened during toileting routines with clients unless in the presence of another staff member.
Materials and Equipment
Employees are expected to use and care for assigned iPad responsibly.
iPad must be checked in and out as required, and documentation is completed any time a device leaves the clinic.
If an iPad is lost or damaged outside of company business (e.g.,personal use, mishandling after checkout), the employee will be financially responsible for repair or replacement and documentation will be required.
If an iPad is damaged during client sessions or company business, the incident must be immediately reported to the Clinical Director and documented, including the cause of damage.
The Clinical Director will determine whether the device will be repaired or replaced and whether the cost is covered by LPRC.
Return all session materials (e.g., toys, books, art supplies) to their designated storage by the end of the day.
Mandatory Training Overview
All Behavior Technicians (BTs) and BCBAs at LPRC are required to complete several mandatory training upon hire and on an annual basis thereafter. These training ensure staff competency, client safety, and compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring training completion and may delegate facilitation to a BCBA, BCBA trainee, or Lead RBT.

Safety-Care Training (after 90-day evaluation)
