Position Summary: Based the Bay Area (San Jose/East Bay/Peninsula) and reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Special Education, the BCBA role will be a key contributor to the implementation and coaching of highly individualized Behavior Intervention Plans for the small percentage of students in special education who have not responded to earlier attempts at behavior supports. This role operates under educational impact and not solely clinical practices. The BCBA will serve multiple school sites which may include schools in San Jose, Redwood City, Concord, or Antioch. The BCBA will partner closely with school psychologists, wellness counselors, special education case managers, school leaders, and program specialists to ensure collaboration and ongoing implementation and coaching of student supports and plans to ensure success. The BCBA will lead training to develop staff and ensure aligned understandings and implementation. The BCBA may also be involved in crisis level support and creation of safety plans for students with more significant safety concerns, as well as in moment de escalation, and at times IEP level support and collaboration (direct services). This position requires previous training and experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs. It requires a commitment to serving students and a desire to think critically and creatively about how to support challenging behaviors in the general education classroom setting. You'll support children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. We're hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers. What You'll Do As a Behavior Technician at BTS, you'll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child's home, clinic, or school, lasting 2-3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you're comfortable with, from toddlers to teens. Your responsibilities include: Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions Why Choose BTS? Qualifications Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, preferably in an ABA or behavioral health setting. Relevant direct-care experience, including supporting children with neurodiverse needs or caring for a family member in a similar capacity, will also be thoughtfully considered. Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children Experience with children or individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required Highly preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field. RBT certification is a plus, but we will cover the cost of obtaining it! Spanish-speaking is a plus! Ability to work independently and communicate effectively Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 18 years of age. Experience with children is a plus, but not required. This job requires commuting to clients' homes around your area. This job requires reliable transportation and a driver's license. If using your vehicle for work, we will need an auto insurance policy with your name on it. In the absence of a driver's license, you will have to submit a government-issued ID. This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding) This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
