Essential Duties and Responsibilities: other duties may be assigned as needed. Provides direct instruction and/or assists students in classroom settings consistent with the student's IEP. In consultation with the classroom teacher and supervising educator, may adapt materials, methods, environment factors to support students in accessing the academic standards instructed at the student's grade level. Support and oversee documentation and recording behavioral data points and outcomes, maintains student records. Produce related reports to inform ongoing behavior intervention service planning and review. Completes required state reporting. Collaborate on an ongoing basis with the administration, classroom teachers, special educators, school counselors, social workers, support personnel, and/or students' teams. As directed, participate in EST, 504, IEP evaluation, and team meetings to assist in developing student plans and assessing student progress, problems, and needs. Intervene as appropriate to avoid negative or explosive student behavior and deals with such behavior if needed using non-aversive restraint techniques in accordance with established protocols.
