POSITION SUMMARY

Works with different client populations following the general directions of the clinical supervisor to deliver psychotherapy to assigned clients. Employs a variety of treatment modalities including individual, group, and family therapy for adult, children, and adolescent populations. Ensures psychotherapeutic techniques and modalities are appropriately matched for clinical needs.
Develops the treatment plan with clients by assessing their strengths and weaknesses, defining their mental health and substance abuse problems, and setting specific goals and objectives to be accomplished in the course of treatment.
Meets with their supervisor and with the treatment team to discuss a client's treatment process.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
On-call crisis therapists will work 12 hour shifts providing as-needed telephone, virtual, and face-to-face emergency and triage services to adults, adolescents, and children. Examples include but are not limited to CI assessment, diagnostic assessments, suicide risk assessments in the jail, and pink slips, as well as responding with law enforcement when requested, or to the jail.
Shifts are available during the day, overnight, and on holidays/weekends.
Services must be provided within the designated amount of time, and include appropriate documentation of services. Additional trainings may be required, and on-call staff are required to meet all relevant agency standards and regulations.
Additional duties as assigned.
Travel required within Fairfield and Perry County.
Requirements
Must have at minimum a Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology. Must possess licensure (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC). Prefer two years post-licensure experience. Must be able to provide clinical services in the community and work cooperatively with the hospitals, probate court, and other agencies. Must meet system requirements for appointment as Health Officer, or at minimum for probationary Health Officer status. Must work well in crisis situations; have good working knowledge of the DSM-V-TR; have excellent written communication skills, convey respect, warmth and hope; be highly organized; and sensitive to the cultural needs of each client and family.
