The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and
the bench. The role will follow instructions from blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and
piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). The role will follow procedures to set up and run quality
checks on various wiring harnesses. The Electrical Technician II will perform independent project tasks
and collaborate with customers and team members.
Responsibilities include:
* Follow provided work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
* Assembly of wiring harnesses using hand tools and proper assembly techniques
* Work in small teams to complete daily build requirements
* Maintain clean and organized work space
* Inventory tracking of project parts and supplies
* Quality validation of wire harness assemblies
* Teardown and/or rework of donor harnesses
* Effectively communicate with cross functional teams on collaborative projects
* Provide world class products and services
Qualifications:
* 1+ years experience in wire harness assembly
* Reliable Transportation
* Detail oriented
* Proficiency in Wire Prep, Crimping, Soldering, De-pinning
* Ability to read and interpret wiring prints and cut sheets
* Accurate measurement skills
* Experienced in use of multimeter
* Effective communication skills
* Computer skills
* Positive and enthusiastic attitude
* Flexibility to cross train for expanded opportunities

Job Description:
The Test Technician completes work according to instructions, specifications and procedures. Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
* Reviews shop traveler route card, or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
* Perform a variety of test to verify circuitry and to test effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
* Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verifying check.
* Perform test and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, frequency counters and other related test equipment
* Sets up test equipment and tests per specification
* Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level
* Provides detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering
* Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
* Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
* Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Skills and Knowledge:
* Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on gasoline, diesel, or CNG engines.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs
Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gasoline, diesel, and CNG engines.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on gasoline, diesel, and CNG engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
2 years of experience as a Gasoline, Diesel, or CNG Mechanic.
ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.

This comprehensive 5-year training program consists of 10,000 hours of paid on-the-job training and essential classroom education, designed to equip you with the skills needed to excel. The program begins with a 20% probationary period, allowing you to acclimate to the role while gaining valuable hands-on experience. You will attend school for at least 144 unpaid hours per school year (four hours each week), registered through a local Community and Technical College. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The scope of work to be performed by the Electronic Technician includes, but is not limited to, testing, inspecting, installing, maintenance and repair of all signal equipment and may be required to perform digging, trenching, and painting duties while working independently. Observes safe work performance standards and operations in completion of daily tasks and provide prompt reporting in cases of accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Attends safety briefings when assigned by Foreman, observes safety compliance, maintains qualifications (GCOR) and coordinates with other departments. Monitors and ensures that all necessary tools and materials for completion of work is provided. Participates in the planning and directing of testing and maintenance of signal equipment such as relays, batteries, switch machines, signal fixtures, cable, and drag equipment detectors. This position works within the guidelines of the System Safety Program by being alert o physical hazards which affect operations; including the modification of recognition or cessation of operations when conditions exist or could develop which that may conflict with a safe operating environment for Amtrak or others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Conduct testing for switch machinery, batteries for plant grounds, relays and cable for specifications, track signals, circuits for route locking, crossing track, locking points and balanced air, air compressors and record findings in accordance with AMT 27.
* Inspects test signal apparatus and systems and records the findings including the results from above in accordance with AMT 27.
* Maintains and repairs the above in accordance with AMT 23 and the special instructions governing the construction of Signals and interlocking.
* Assists Signalman in performance of assigned duties and conducts his/her own equipment tests and records results.
* Works with the Foreman to maintain all small tools and equipment conducting daily inventories to ensure good working order.
* Responds to signal failures, answers trouble calls for signal failures and reports to the Foreman
* Assist in marking out where cables are located; installation of new movement ties; switch inspections, surfacing and to provide generators for power outage.
* Perform carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks as needed including pipefitting and low voltage 220 voltage electrical work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Applicants will be required to qualify for the position by passing the electronic technician examination for communications prepared by System Communications Engineering Department.
* The technician must be familiar with the division reporting structure, possess knowledge of data and voice circuit electronics, and have general knowledge of electronics.
* Must be capable of learning, understanding, and maintaining Amtrak's cable plant.
* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
* Applicants must have a valid driver's license on the date of hire.
* Must be able to read and understand job information written in English.
* Applicants must be able to perform basic mathematical computations including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities: The Electronics Technician II must be able to perform the following: * able to assign work schedules and assignment for activities as tasked by the customer * able to provide management efforts required for planning and scheduling of assigned installation sites, including development of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)

Minimum Qualifications:
* Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
* Two (2) years of experience to include supervision and shop practices.
* Three (3) years of practical experience in electronics repair and installation.
* Must have a current passport or the ability to obtain one.
* Active security clearance preferred.
* Must have knowledge and experience with reading and editing electronic and cabling schematic drawings, RF cable and connector installation, surge protection, basic metal and cable fabrication, hand and power tool operation, and heavy equipment operation (forklifts, man lifts).
Educational Requirements:
1.) High School diploma or GED.
2.) Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training to include: installation tasks, soldering, cable dressing, cable tray, conduit, and making/ repairing connectors.

We are currently looking for a full-time Electromechanical Technician for our Allentown, PA plant.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for electro-mechanical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to all production and facility equipment in addition to installation of said equipment in the plant, warehouse, and office areas by performing the following duties. Electro-mechanical skill set is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
Ensure the operational viability of the plant by evaluating and maintaining the proper functioning of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Involvement with process instrumentation and automation equipment specifying and selecting control equipment to maximize automation efforts.
Maintain proper documentation of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems and keep files up to date including process instrumentation diagrams, block diagrams, and drawings.
Hands on experience with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture to aid in troubleshooting
Performs ladder logic programming and troubleshooting for PLC's.
Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors and drives.
Determines the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits for electrical apparatus for repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors, and the operation of automated and robotic systems.
Adheres and actively participate in lock out/tag out practices and procedures. Keeps all documentation up to date of lock out/tag out and works with Safety Director to maintain safe practices.
Assists Operations Manager, supervisors, and maintenance lead with the operation of the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
Inspects and ensures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards.
Requisitions tools, electrical test equipment and maintenance supplies required for plant operation.
Confers with plant manager, production manager, supervisors, and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment and processes.
Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
Records and files complete machine histories relating to maintenance problems and cures, troubleshooting methods, services required, spare parts and parts vendors.
Regular and reliable attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Knows, understands and follows all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures.
Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and product information, attending authorized training programs and seminars.
Be available for monthly safety meetings, on-call and overtime work.
Annual, semi- annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly & daily Inspections.
Manage & distribute Maintenance PO numbers.
