Essential Duties Recruitment Responsibilities: * Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to identify, engage, and enroll Spanish-speaking adult learners in the ESL/ELA program. * Build relationships with local community organizations, employers, faith-based groups, and immigrant/refugee support agencies to promote the ESL program. * Conduct informational sessions, participate in community events, and provide support for prospective students (application assistance, orientation, brief assessments). * Track recruitment metrics, maintain a recruitment database, report on outreach effectiveness. * Collaborate with the team to align recruitment with program retention, class schedules, and student support services. Instructional Responsibilities: * Prepare and teach assigned ESL courses in accordance with approved outlines and state curriculum, addressing diverse learning styles through in-person instruction. * Develop, review, and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum revisions and ensure instruction aligns with program goals and student needs. * Maintain accurate class documentation, including attendance records, registration forms, and student portfolios, while ensuring compliance with FERPA and college policies. * Assess student progress using CASAS Pre/Post assessment methods to monitor learning outcomes and achieve measurable skill gains * Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that fosters student engagement, participation, and success. * Actively recruit and engage prospective ESL students, with a focus on the local Spanish-speaking community, through outreach events, community partnerships, and collaboration with local organizations and employers. * Provide information sessions, application support, and orientation for new ESL learners to ensure smooth program entry and retention. * Track recruitment activities and enrollment data monthly, report on outcomes, and make recommendations for continuous improvement of outreach and recruitment strategies. * Build strong relationships with community agencies, schools, and workforce partners to promote ESL program awareness and participation. * Manage multiple responsibilities efficiently, adapt to changing work environments, and maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the public. * Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching and recruitment effectiveness. * Submit required reports, fulfill contract provisions, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
