What type of jewelery would you say has the biggest upmark in price, or that gives a better profit to the store?

I would have to say sterling silver, a lot of it is made in China. Since the price of gold has shot up silver has become more popular so with demand comes supply and a price increase. Silver is also marked up and then given a higher percentage off to entice the buyer to come in. Once they're in they might buy a silver ring or pendant but they will also see something in gold they like which they will in turn buy. OR more commonly a customer will not find what they want in silver but in gold and therefor pay the higher price for the gold just because they have to have the certain style.
