**Position Summary** :
This role reports to our Director of Supply Chain. This person will perform sourcing, supplier development and sustainment support activities for our business unit. This position requires a motivated individual able to work independently and as a team player who can multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of program, engineering and GSC stakeholders.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide sourcing recommendation to internal customers (common products procurement and major subcontract) by utilizing strategic sourcing tools.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ This position emphasis skills and experience. Must have 12 years of experience. Will also consider a Bachelor degree with a minimum work experience of 8 years or Masters and 6 years of experience.
+ Previous experience working with engineering, and materials & processes, supplier quality and sub-contracts organizations to help resolve technical supplier challenges and access supplier capabilities for global supply chain and capture teams.
+ Experience in reviewing a supplier's ISO and QMS systems to ensure they can meet the program requirements.
+ Ability to assess a suppliers capabilities and capacity to meet program demands.
+ Experience reviewing a contract to understand the requirements and verify a supplier's compliance to those requirements.
+ Experience using SAP, Windows software packages, and other electronic databases

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $147,100.00

Our team provides customers with support Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) heavy maintenance and modifications. Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will provide liaison support and develop detailed structural analyses in support of drawing release or aircraft repairs including but not limited to free body diagrams, internal or external loading and calculation of internal stresses. These analyses will be in support of Material Review Board (MRB), Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and fleet management activities.
The candidate should have knowledge of Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), large transport aircraft structural design criteria, nonstandard repairs, and equivalent strength analysis.
Provides technical guidance to liaison engineers in the design and substantiation of aircraft structural modification integration and/or repairs.

Experience-Based Pay Range
This position's compensation is based on a range of 6-9 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates may be considered for higher compensation based on demonstrated expertise, scope of impact, advanced education, professional certifications, or possession of a related engineering degree.
Pay: $76,000.00 - $116,000.00
The base salary range for this position in the U.S. at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000.00 and $116,000.00 per year. In this role, you will identify and capture new business opportunities, maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and provide strategic insights to guide research and development priorities. This a remote role reporting to the Blacksburg Site Sales Manager.
As a Business Development Engineer, you will:
* Drive business growth and support strategy for USG direct pursuits.
* Develop feedback loops with insights on emerging technologies and evolving national security threats to guide R&D priorities.
* Align business strategy and define vision and tactics for business development opportunities.
* Identify and capture new business opportunities with USG and DoD entities.
* Maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers.
* Evaluate and manage new business initiatives, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
* Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs.
* Serve as capture manager for assigned opportunities.
* Advise senior leadership on status and actions related to business development opportunities.
* Lead planning, due diligence, and implementation of strategic objectives.
* Direct development of short- and long-range goals and recommend objectives to management.
Key Challenges
* Navigating the Department of Defense acquisition cycle.
* Understanding budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps, and market dynamics.
* Managing complex contracts and technical products for military markets.
To be considered for Business Development Engineer, here is what you'll need to bring with you:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
* 8 years of experience in the Defense/Federal marketplace, preferably with exposure to DoD labs, technical centers, and program offices.
* 3 years in a customer-facing role.
* Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to travel domestically 20% - 40% based on business needs.
* The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access to U.S. export-controlled information.
Preferred Knowledge
* Understanding of DoD funding and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
* Familiarity with OTAs and DCS processes.

Salary Range Transparency:
Blacksburg, VA $120,000.00-$150,000.00 Annually
