Shift: The regular hours for this position are day shift. Job Description: The successful candidate will use their experience to work with internal customers to own capacity planning and optimize processes during the factory startup at our Farmers Branch location. The candidate will be a key contributor to operation's support and assist with machine requirements, ramp planning, data analysis and tracking, priority setting, and continuous improvement of processes and layouts. In this position, the candidate will be interacting with Operations, Planning, Process Engineering, and Facility teams to prepare for factory startup, and continuously improve Operations after startup. The first few months will require frequent collaboration with - and travel to - our Los Angeles, CA location. Expect travel to occur 1 to 2 weeks per month for the first 2-4 months. After this period, regular travel will stop. You may be asked to join the IE Department for benchmarking and kaizen trips, 1-2 weeks per year ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work with Operations and Engineering to create and improve capacity models, using these models to establish startup and ramp plans for production. * Improve manufacturing processes by eliminating waste, optimizing and streamlining process flow, and implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques. * Support daily production control meetings to track and identify issues, lead root cause analysis on new problems, and drive the IE mindset across the company. * Coordinate efforts with the Operations team to resolve bottlenecks, staffing issues, and priority setting that could impact scheduled deliveries. * Track and review metric charts and focus on KPIs to meet delivery performance targets (for example WIP, capacity, yield, machine and labor utilization, etc.); use this data to drive continuous improvement efforts. * Creation or improvement of layout and design for existing or new production space. * Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Mix of time spent in a manufacturing setting across both clean room and non-clean room settings, and time in front of a computer. Sitting, standing, and observing for periods of time. Ability to work near hazardous materials and chemicals and follow safety procedures.
