Although a few items do weigh more, a maximum lift of 50 lb. is all that is required. Standing, bending, pivoting, walking and reaching overhead are required during most of the shift. Climbing ladders, pulling wire through conduit, hanging fixtures and electrical components also requires a physical exertion. Lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, stretching, crawling and working in awkward and/or confined positions is frequent with any electromechanical technician. Some of the physical tasks include hanging gearboxes on top of machines, changing brakes or the motors on cranes.
