Position Summary
The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facility, staff, patients, and visitors. Reporting to the Security Sergeant and Director of Security, this role includes routine patrols, emergency response, de-escalation, and active enforcement of hospital policies to promote a secure healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Control access to the facility and admit only authorized individuals
Conduct regular patrols of buildings and surrounding grounds
Inspects all doors, windows, and exits to identify security risks
Monitor delivery and receipt of packages to prevent theft
Secure restricted areas and document checks in security logs
Respond to alarms and emergency codes (e.g., Code Red, 777)
Apply verbal de-escalation and physical intervention when necessary
Operate hospital vehicles for internal transportation needs
Report safety hazards or incidents and complete written documentation
Unlock areas for authorized personnel as requested
Participate in mandatory training and professional development
Maintain and inspect assigned security equipment
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Coordinate the Hospital's Safety Programs; provide Administrative oversight to the Safety Program; complete administrative projects and tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directly supervises Engineering staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Contracts with and supervises all outside contractors who are working on grounds. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engineering
1. Oversee the monitoring of the overall condition of Hospital buildings and grounds to assure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and appropriate work conditions for staff.
2. Direct improvements as required.

Assists coordinator in developing and facilitating daily case conference
Completes a daily report outlining all patient activities
Manages the daily activities and schedule of treatment team staff. Manages counselor assignments and discharge dates
Prepares Personal Histories, Bio-psychosocial Assessments, Comprehensive Treatment Plans, Treatment Plan Reviews and Revisions, and ASAM
Conducts group counseling, individual counseling, family sessions, psycho educational and specialty groups with clients as assigned and documents appropriately and within hospital timeframes
Assists clients in maintaining contact with external systems when necessary including: Probation or Parole Officer, DPA, DHS, Employers, Funding Sources, and other case management as required
Maintains treatment planning and patient progress in the documentation tracking system
Conducts and participates in case conference with patient and treatment team

Qualifications
Requirements:
The minimum qualification is a Master's Degree in a health or human services field
Two years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a setting that serves individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders is required.
