Beloit Health System company history timeline

1928

In 1928, Beloit Municipal Hospital was built on Beloit’s Olympian Boulevard and provided care at that location for over 40 years.

1967

Ground was broken for Beloit Memorial Hospital in October of 1967 and construction began immediately.

1968

Currently, this building houses the Mitchell County Health Department and serves as an outreach clinic for out-of-town and visiting specialists. It all began back in 1968 when Doctor Collins, Doctor Dobratz and Joe Evans, a local pharmacist, erected the building at 310 W. 8th street in Beloit, Kansas.

1970

Beloit Hospital opened its doors in 1970 in its current location and has been providing quality and compassionate healthcare for stateline residents since that time.

The Clinic moved its facility from the west side of Beloit to the east side after the hospital was built in 1970.

1971

The practice formed a corporation in 1971 and thus, Beloit Medical Center, P.A. was established.

1972

Following the sudden passing of Doctor Collins in 1972, the practice was joined by Doctor Douglas Drake (Family Practice).

1985

In 1985, the hospital expanded their range of specialty services by establishing a close affiliation with the highly regarded University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.

1987

When founding member Doctor Dobratz retired in 1987 Doctor Craig Concannon (Internal Medicine) and Doctor Carl Fugate (Family Practice) joined the ever growing team of physicians.

1989

In 1989, the hospital opened its first outreach primary care center.

1996

Doctor Jim Siler (Internal Medicine) joined the team in 1996 and, along with Doctor Klenda, Doctor Concannon, Doctor Fugate and Doctor Kimple, decided to build Beloit Medical Center’s current location at 1005 N. Lincoln, Beloit, Kansas.

1997

Upon its completion in 1997, the practice officially relocated and re-opened its doors for business.

2007

In December 2007, the hospital opened a $35 million new health and wellness campus in Roscoe, IL called NorthPointe.

2010

Starting January 1, 2010, Beloit Hospital partnered with Beloit Clinic and become a new integrated health system with the name of Beloit Health System.

2016

The advanced certification was established in 2016 and is awarded for a two-year period.

2017

In 2017, the System’s joint replacement program, The Advanced Joint Care Center, became the first in Wisconsin to earn advanced certification in total hip and total knee replacement from the Joint Commission.

2022

Beloit Health System will be offering Moderna vaccine for 6 months - 5 years old starting Friday, July 15, 2022.
