The role of the FPI Bench worker is to perform a variety of metal finishing operations including; perform metal finishing operations; deburring, hand grinding, buffing, sandblasting to blend to overlays & inspecting while maintaining quality Tecomet standards. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform metal finishing operations; deburring, hand grinding, buffing, sandblasting to blend to overlays & inspecting. Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection experience a plus.

· Receive work order, drawings, and parts to be finished.

· After instruction from Supervisor/Lead person, select and utilize hand and power tools such as grinders, sanders, drills and drill bits, knives, deburring tools, etc.

· Etch number identifications on various parts where specified, using etching equipment.

· Perform critical, close tolerance deburring/finishing of minute/very small parts where radii and chamber/edges are critical, using microscope and small tools.

· Inspect all finished parts for quality/specification requirements and place in containers/trays, and tag or record order data.

· Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.

· Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to Supervisor/Lead person.

· Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.

· Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions, and maintain quality standards.

· Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

Qualification Requirements

Educational/Training Requirement:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

· Ability to operate belt grinders.

· Must be mechanically inclined and able to deburr, sandblast, tape and inspect parts.

· Able to follow written and verbal instructions with the ability to read blue prints.

· Previous experience using prints, micrometers and vernier's a plus.

· Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection experience a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:

· N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Use of reading, writing, adding and subtracting whole numbers, following instructions, use of fixed gauges, direct reading instruments and similar devices, where interpretation is not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand.
