Job Summary: Performs a variety of technical (including EKG, EEG and Phlebotomy), clerical and communicative tasks for the effective operation of the Medical Clinic. Keeps accurate files of all types of records housed in the clinic, correctly maintaining different systems of filing and retrieving. Transfers immunization records on Adolescent patients to Retreat Form for Infection Control Dept. Maintains employee health files and enters appropriate data into computer. Xeroxes records and forms according to procedure standards ensuring quality copies. Tracks Medical Clinic inventory and orders supplies as needed. Sorts and sends lab, EKG, medical consults, other forms, test results, and copies to appropriate department/units in a timely fashion, as necessary, ensuring rapid delivery of information to appropriate persons for efficient care decisions. Schedules appointments on AVATAR Scheduler for M.D. consultants and N.P.'s, and X-Ray ensuring timely, appropriate care and attention for patients and staff. Organizes and monitors the flow of the Clinic workload. Maintains flexibility based on clinic needs. Transmits Clinic daily schedule to each patient care unit in a timely manner. Edits schedule as needed and enters pertinent data after clinic visit. Triages telephone call and conveys unit needs/concerns to N.P. Assists with triage of patients insuring that compromised patients receive appropriate care quickly. Relays test results and messages to the appropriate people following established Retreat polices as requested, ensuring effective communication and confidentiality. Patient Care Role Model Presents with a calm, therapeutic presence Consistently connects and engages patients in a proactive manner Uses models and coaches others in therapeutic communication, while demonstrating appropriate boundaries Asserts a positive tone, provides anticipatory positive engagement strategies and participates in the development of ma management plan.
